I ordered a Canon Digital Rebel XTi Kit with 2 Canon lenses and many other accessories for ~$300 less than other vendors on 12/28/07. On 12/29/07, I received an email requesting that I call 1WayPhoto to provide verbal confirmation to ship the item ...
I'm in the market for a lens--the Canon 70-200mm 2.8/L IS. These sell in the $1,500 to $2,000 range. On 1/15/2009, 1WAYPHOTO.COM advertised it for $1,199.00. I decided to purchase it and placed the order. I received ...
I recently purchased a Nikon D60 from 1 way photo. After many years of online purchasing I have been ripped off. After placing my online order I was asked to call back to confirm my CC information. When I called back I was told that the battery that came ...
Found a Nikon D90 body in an on-line add from 1 Way Photo (should be called "1 Way Money, from your pocket to theirs) for about $650 -- sounded good so I called to find what the camera and lens would cost. Big Mistake. According to the sales ...

I wish I would have come across this site sooner. What I did find was ShopCartUSA.com amp; I believed the ratings they provided for 1 Way Photo. Now I think the two of them are in bed with each other because my bad review has never appeared on the ...

I usually don't review online stores, but I wanted to warn people about the shady sales practices at this company. Most of the deals on the site really are too good to be true. For example, the Nikon D300 camera packages that include Nikon Lens don't ...
Very low price, but no intent to sell the product as advertised. by rbwebshopper ,Dec 10 '07
Advertised as in stock, would ship same day. Ordered camera on line, again stated the camera would ship that day. Received a phone call later in the day from the store. They tried to sell me additional items, but were not pushy. When I stated that I was buying the camera as a present and didn't want to add to the order they politely closed the conversation and sent me an email that stated the item was back ordered for 3 to 4 weeks.
Got ripped off by bait and switch tactics. I got $133 overcharged and usless items that I did not order. But I did recieve the camera. I am filing a credit card dispute since I did not authorize the extracharges.
I called, I was told I reached sales and customer service was not open for a few more hours. Called back and tricked someone to speak with me. I was told I wasn't not getting a refund and that I ordered the item and approved the extra charge. This of course was not true. One twist. I was originally told in the camera was a Japan model with a plastic body. Then I was told the original price (shown on the Internet, my receipt and email from them) was only for a camera body. In addition he said the "retail box" is what justified the extra price of the camera. Kind of like buying a Coke to only find out the $1.00 was for the can and the liquid that is supposed to be inside is extra. I faxed what I needed over to my credit card company so now it is a waiting game for a week or two.
Scam shop with a bait & switch business approach by imho1 ,Feb 16 '08
I agree with all the assessments that 1 Way Photo is a scam shop with a bait & switch business approach. Ordered a Canon lens online, received an email requesting me to call them at 1-800-728-9461 at EXT 227 to "provide a verbal confirmation so that we can ship out your order". I called and Jason proceeded to "offer his recommendation" that I upgrade to a new, not-yet-on-the-market-anywhere-else Sigma lens. He initially mentioned I could get the lens for the same price but within our 2-minute conversation it became a $25-50 increase. He said it was my choice if I wanted to go with the inferior Canon, so when I chose to stick with the Canon, he said okay no problem. Two days later I get an email notifying me that the item is "no longer in stock and is on a current 3-4 week backorder". After a couple more conversations and a cancelled order, I am convinced I will not be giving 1 Way Photo any future business. Save yourself the headaches and wasted time/money and stay away from these guys!
1 Way Photo is not worth my time. by bahamagirl77 ,Jan 19 '09
I ordered a Sony Handycam DCR-DVD for $236 after a search engine found 1WayPhoto.com to be the cheapest priced. I received an email the next day stating that I need to call their 800 number and confirm my order. I called today and while confirming my order the man on the phone said this was for the camera only and did not come with a battery charger or the memory stick. He tried to sell me both, but these items should have came with the camera I said. He argued no they did not. He tried to sell me these for $99 each, but they come with the camcorder in stores for $276. I canceled my order and made them send me a confirmation of cancellation to my email for proof if my credit card is charged.
Very pushy and rude customer service. Wish I would have read Epinions first.
Do yourself a favor and stay away from this company and others like it (Expresscameras, bestpricephoto, etc). It is a scam! They run the bait and switch- you order online and then they ask you to call and confirm. When you call, they try to sell you high-priced accesories. If you agree, they send you cheap products (not what you want). If you don't agree, they call you names, and hang up on you. THIS IS NOT A LEGIT COMPANY!

the worst on line experience ever. STAY AWAY! by christop70 ,Dec 27 '07
My story is the same as everyone else. Bait & switch. my original package price on a canon xti w/ 17-85 mm IS lens was $749.00. got scammed into the same up grades, bat. flashcard, including a sigma 28-70 lens that was far inferior. new package price $1279.00 plus (100.00 s&h which was advertised as free). i got off the phone and did a little research and found out i was getting scammed. called to cancel the order and was told it had been shipped . I never received a detailed invoice showing the costs of my upgrades which i asked for three times . I refused the order when it arrived. they are now charging me 20% restock fee plus the &100.00 s&h. they said if i dispute the charges with my credit card they will turn me into a collection agency and RUIN MY CREDIT whether i win my dispute or not. they also called me stupid. i just laughed at the person. WTF. STAY AWAY
