Pros: Battery life, reception, perfect size (for me, at least), & rubberized coating for easy grip Cons: Menu system can be improved
I've owned quite a few cell phones in my life. Just to give you an idea, I've owned a Motorola, Pioneer, Mitsubishi, Nokia, Ericsson, Samsung, Sony, and even an Audiovox cell phone. I picked up the Panasonic DuraMax because one of my friends had good...
Pros: Durability & small size Cons: gets warm when using, no built in belt clip
**Don't try this at home!**
While I was at work recently, I was throwing some trash into the huge compactor we have. After about 10 minutes, I realized that my cell phone was missing. As I looked all over the store for it, I figured...
Pros: Strong and durable Cons: Speakerphone unusable, no advanced features, form factor uncomfortable for long use, chicklet keys.
Awhile back I made the decision to change wireless providers to AT&T Wireless, a mistake I recently remedied. One of the first things I found with them was that their choice of phones for their TDMA network is rather suspect. In fact, they have no phones...
Pros: Sleek and handsome looks, nicely rubberized, dual back-lighting Cons: Some menu features are quirky
Background
I've owned various cell-phones in the past starting with a Nokia analog (I forget the model number), then a Nokia 5188 Digital, A Sanyo SCP5000, and then finally, this Panasonic EB-TX220.
When my wife and I signed up for a family share plan with AT&T, we were presented with an array of phones to choose from. We chose to buy two DuraMax phones for because it met a combination of features we were looking for: sturdy and durable,...
Pros: extremely rugged, good contact functionality, messaging Cons: gets warm during use, terrible keys, no extra ringtones
I've owned a lot of phones over the past 10 years, and of course, they get better and better over time. I thought that the Nokia 6160 was the best phone yet, until one of my co-workers came in with the DuraMax. Once he told me about it shock-absorption...
Pros: Light weight, durable casing, easy to use and most of all reception Cons: perhaps the tiny keys but not a real issue for me.
My little Nokia was about 2 years old and ready for user-assisted suicide. I called up AT&T wireless and was offered the Duramax phone for $120 and a $50 credit to my account on top of that. The only catch was renewing my service for a year; big deal!...
Pros: Great phone, durable, speaker phone Cons: Absolutely nothing!
Once again, let me introduce myself. I am the Store Manager of a local Cell Phone company and I really hope my opinion on this product helps you make a decision.
When the Panasonic DuraMax first came out, I got to field test it. One word came...
Pros: Small, handsome, light easy to use and program, lots, and lots of features. Cons: Ringtones, I want programmable ring tones! :)
Duramax by Panasonic is a great little cellphone, using the word little losely ofcourse, by today's standards this one is much bigger than sone of those tiny Nokias but way smaller than the Nextel or the older Qualcomms. This phone has it all, everything...
Upon having the need to replace my defunct NOKIA 6100 series phone (due to the fact that after a year the battery had very little life left), I dropped into my local AT&T wireless store here in south Florida. They had a display with the PANASONIC...
Pros: Small size, GREAT battery life, built-in vibrate function, dual illumination, intuitive memory approach. Cons: No Internet browser, display most definitely NOT for the visually challenged.
I've had this phone for 1 month now an have to say that I am VERY impressed with the features of this phone!
First, when programming the phone I was able to enter in multiple numbers for one name. This is a major advantage for me since I may...
Pros: Extremely durable--military specs. Cons: Accessories and parts are hard to come by.
I have used this phone for a year now. When I first bought it last year, it was even more obscure than it is now (3/02). I picked it because I wanted something that was going to be very durable. Something just shy of being built like a tank. I read...
Pros: Battery Life, Durability, Phone book (the way it stores entries), Display light, sound clarity Cons: Speakerphone not loud enough to be used outdoors or in a car
I would like to add to the reviews in this section, saying that I am generally in agreement with the opinions presented on the phone thus far. I purchased this phone 1 month ago and have used it in Los Angeles, New York, and Las Vegas, and have found...
Pros: Almost unbreakable, just the right size, rubberized grip, excellent LCD display Cons: Speakerphone doesn't turn up loud enough and gets garbled.
I bought this phone in May of 2001 through AT&T and am sorry to say I have to retire it this month (Aug. 2004) because of a company policy on which carrier I can use. I bought because a Verizon cellphone tower installer said it is the only phone he ...
Pros: Durable, Long battery life, Inexpensive this list goes on... Cons: Small Buttons
I'm very hard on phones, I ve had four in the last 2 years. And the previous 3 all broke, one broke twice. This phone is inexpensive, almost impossible to break, it will store more than one phone number per person in the address book. So you done need...
Pros: Clear sound, light weight, easy search directory, durable, great speaker phone feature and sturdy buttons. Cons: No built in belt clip, cannot use hands free while charging phone.
The phone it's self is great. Heres what I would add and change for the DuraMax II. 1) Make the antenna come out from the top of the phone instead of having it come out from the back then point up. In other words make it flush with the top of the phone....
Pros: battery life, ability to enter multiple numbers for one person, durability, display Cons: not as easy as Motorola to look up numbers, speaker phone not loud enough
I purchased this phone over a year ago for my wife. She had finally broken her Motorola and she doesn’t get off work until the local phone store closes. I checked all the specks on the phones he had in stock. There were a number of things about the...
This is one of the greatest phones out there. It is very light and small and can fit almost anywhere you want it to. It has a great service and the battery lasts a life time. Also the battery is one of the fastest charging batteries I have ever had. It...
Pros: this phone is all that and more!it does everything i need it to do Cons: not web enabled like i need it anyway i have a pc
well i've been looking at this phone for awhile, but the price was to high for me. just my luck my phone got stolen so i had a chance to purchase a new one i was skeptical at first, but then i thought you have to pay for good quality so i decided to...
Pros: Tough case and stable signals. Cons: Battery gets pretty warm after talking for extended periods.
I have had this phone for over a year now and have no issues with it. It has been dropped several times, stepped on, and used in places I never would have thought I would get a signal.
Limited in the ringtone and graphics area but if you are looking for flash this is not the phone for you.
Pros: ruggedness, battery life, multi-band operation, logical operation Cons: could be smaller, hi-tech for 2001, few bells & whistles
Hardly state of the art anymore, but it works great is well-nigh bullet-proof, and works almost everywhere! The battery will last a week with a single charge and average usage (but watch out for using it for prolonged periods when roaming in an analog area). It connects with enough networks to be usable almost anywhere. The controls and menus are well thought-out without the complexity and key multiplexing common to many mini phones (pun intended).
It's my gold standard. I still have it because I have yet to find a phone which is functionally superior in any meaningful respect. I've also owned phones from Nokia and Sony, and traded in an Erikson for the Duramax.
