I cannot recommend that anyone buy this game at this point. I have two NEW PCs (Dell Dimension 9100 and 4700) that I bought this year and are very decent machines with standard options (ATI graphics cards, 1 GB or more of memory, P4. Both of the machines will intermittantly crash after game play starts. Check out www.agecommunity.com for the Ensemble/Microsoft PUBLIC message about how buggy this software works. Apparently, MS wanted Ensemble to get the game out before Christmas and adequate testing has not been done on it. They have promised a patch (beyond the 1.01 patch which didn't help anything for me) but basically we are being held hostage by them with a $50 game that does not play and we have no recourse (can't take it back to the store). I don't know what kind of systems they tested this game on, but I am not alone in not being able to play it. Judging by the forum, there are hundreds of people (or 1000's?) who cannot.
