I placed this order for a digital camera via the merchant's website a few days before Christmas and requested expedited (2 business-day) shipping since this was to be a Christmas present. When I checked my email several hours later I found an email telling me that I had to call to confirm my order. When I called the extension I was given, there was no answer. When I called the main number, I learned the merchant would not reopen until 12/20 at 10 am. Not wanting to risk some other delay that would mean not receiving the gift on time, I left a message on the main number and also sent an email cancelling my order. I then ordered the equipment from another supplier (B&H Electronics). B&H accepted the order as submitted via its website, put my order together and got it to me in the timeframe I requested WITHOUT DELAY.
The reason I order via the web is so that I do NOT have to play telephone tag with customer reps. I was also suspicious that I had to confirm an order by phone when it had already been confirmed via a secure website and via an approved credit-card authorization.
Never again.

The follow up phone call surprised me. They would not release my order until I spoke to the customer service rep. I felt like it was just a call to try to sell me more merchandise. The man who called to comfirm the order promised delivery by a certain day, and he said that was the latest day the delivery would come, but the camera wasn't delivered for a week after.
