Pros: Gets rid of most of the red, rinses clean, smells fine Cons: You have to use a lot of it, Does it really freshen your dishwasher? Nah.
My wife loves that I take leftovers for lunch at work, but hates that I microwave them directly in the plastic. With red food items such as pasta and anything tomato based, this makes the plastic containers quickly turn to a light red. The dishwasher ...
Pros: Gives great results. Eliminates greasy red stains & and odors from tomato-based sauces! Cons: None to date.

Assistance Cleaning Plastics by epinionszzzz ,Nov 03 '06
Pros: Extra "cleaning punch" for plastics and stained plastic like tomato stained tupperware for example Cons: Marketed stingily/small tube does not last long/Not cheap/Not great value
I use this product even though I have a stainless steel interior Dish washer.....It seems to do a good job on the plastic tupperware in the upper rack and similar objects of plastic....I'm not positive if it actually does much or makes much difference yet the aroma is nice (strawberries fresh)....It's sort of like Chicken soup...It probably does no harm and MAY do some good.....The problem is...I don't find it too economical....For one thing I can't find a larger size tube or jar anywhere and the small plastic tube only lasts about 1 or 2 weeks at best with sparing use...there's not much in there....P&G needs to market larger sizes more properly if at all....If you compute the per/pound price it probably comes out to a high figure like many products now on the market...so my Local Walmart sells the small tube for over $3.50 and this price is not in my opinion a good value....Why not try selling a larger quantity at a value price??
Life Saver with little kids and sippy cups by thezue ,Sep 20 '06
Pros: Gets rid of smells Cons: Not available in Canada
One use for this stuff that isn't often mentioned is that it gets smells out of plastic. My son is an absolute pro at hiding his sippy cups full of milk. We find them in the bottom of his toy box, under his bed, in the back of our pantry; pretty much anywhere there is room to put a sippy cup. Unfortunately we don't always find them right away and the milk has gotten absolutely gross and smelly. The ONLY thing I have found that gets rid of the smell is this stuff. Running them through the dishwasher often leaves them smelling like rotten milk and without this stuff we'd just be throwing them out. Luckily this doesn't happen too often but for tough smells in plastic I love this stuff and can't imagine not having it around.
It Cleans, It Freshens, It's Amazing ! by djsimard ,Feb 19 '06
Pros: Bottom line ... it works Cons: Cost, color discoloration
Like everybody else, you get suspicious of advertising ... but in this case, Cascade's Plastic Booster does work and works mighty fine. I've tested it on different kinds of plastic and even old ones and the results have all been excellent when you follow the Directions. Also, it does help to keep your dishwasher look and smell clean when your unit is not a stainless steel tub.
There are some drawbacks though that you need to be aware of and one of them is the cost, which when used regularly, does add up ... but the second one is for colored plastic such as lids or plastic plates ... what will happen is that you will notice a discoloration after a couple of wash, so if you don't want this to happen, well make sure you clean the clear plastic separately.
A product that actually delivers on its claims! by psutoughguy ,Oct 06 '05
Pros: Works as promised, cleans both dishwasher and plasticware Cons: Tube is fairly small
I have to admit, I was extremely skeptical when purchasing Cascade Plastic Booster... something that would "magically" dissolve a tomato based stain on plastic? But, with the inside of a less-than-2-month-old dishwasher turned a bright red hue, I was willing to try anything.
To use the product, you load the pre-wash (smaller) detergent cup with the plastic booster, and you load the main detergent cup with dishwashing detergent (the tube recommends, of course, Cascade). You then run the dishwasher on it's longest and hottest cycle (in my case, it was the heavy wash cycle with the temperature boost option turned on) with no dishes inside.
When the cycle completed, the inside of my dishwasher was white, just as white as when I purchased it (not more than 2 months ago).
I would definitely recommend this product without any hesitation. Finally... a product that actually delivers on its claims!
