Pros: Easy setup for default settings, good security features Cons: Poor documentation

I'm a reasonably competent computer user I can usually make them work, given enough time. But I am no expert when it comes to networking. Normally, I leave all that stuff to the techies in my office and just complain to them...
Pros: Free tech support, small footprint, inexpensive. Cons: Tech support is "hit or miss", but generally good.
My brother and I had purchased the DI-604 as a way to connect both of our computers to the same internet connection (as is the purpose of any router). Although we are unable to take advantage of features offered by more expensive routers (i.e., print ...
UPDATE Since my initial review, I've yet to have any problems with this router. It has been on constantly for nearly a year, with just a couple interruptions where we've shut it off during really severe thunderstorms. Now that everybody seems to want ...
Pros: Easy web based setup wizard and administration Cons: Log only shows warnings... Manual not great. failed to get latest firmware from web
I got the D-Link the same day I got my regular ADSL modem (up to then I'd been using a USB ADSL modem which cannot be used with a router). So I was setting both up for the first time. The documentation for the modem only explained how to connect it to a ...
Pros: Permits complex and sizable firewall settings to be established. Certified Xbox Live compatable. Cons: Too many open connections crashes this router. Heat and compact design may shorten its lifespan.
Purchased for CDN$45 Summer 2004. Rev.E HW. Works great for Xbox Live although only some firmware revs are approved for XBox Live. Has built-in settings tables for some popular networking application TCP/UDP ports. Requires a lot of extra ...

I have a DSL connection with Qwest and share it with my partner's computer. My previous router was a 2-Link Home Portal. For the most part it worked fine unless the power was interrupted which required removal and re-installation of the software. Also...
garbage hardware from a garbage company by ns1991 ,Oct 03 '03
Pros: cheap, wonderful features as listed on the package, looks good. Cons: Doesn't work, and D-LINK couldn't care less.
Bought it about a year ago. At least once in two days, it loses its mind and disconnects from the internet. I tried upgrading firmware, etc. etc.
Finally had enough of it and called the support. Spent 30 minutes on hold. The first guy tried to transfer me somewhere else and hang up. Spent another 30 minutes on hold, talked to another imbecile who transferred me to a level 2 technician. Spent another 20 minutes on hold, got to talk to somebody who was too busy eating to pay any attention to me. Was told to reload the firmware and see if t solves the problem.
At this point I realized I have already spent more time that the stupid thing is worth, and threw it into garbage. Will be buying something else, definitely not a D-LINK.
I gave up on this router, switched to LinkSys by futnee ,Nov 22 '03
Pros: Ability to schedule times when ports are forwarded. Changes take place very quickly. Cons: Mine would sometimes "lock up" when making changes, requring me to physically unplug the unit.
I owned the router for about a year and eventually gave up on it. Most of the time it worked fine, but would usually lock up when making changes. Towards the end it couldn't keep my DSL connection up. I eventually switched to a LinkSys product and have been happy ever since.
