Pros: Attractive, great sound, packed with features Cons: Bottom buttons too small and with tiny print
I am reviewing the GE 27930GE3, 2.4 GHz Cordless Telephone. Perhaps you've run into the same problems as I have. The products you love sometimes don't last at all. The ones you want to get rid of, and in the worst way, last forever. My last cordless...
Pros: Small, lots of features, good quality sound. Cons: The buttons may be too small for some people.
I am reviewing the General Electric 40-Channel 2.4 GHz Cordless Telephone with Digital Answerer Model # 27990 (GE3-found on the bottom of the phone). I am specifying this so thoroughly because it has taken me weeks to figure out which phone I...
Pros: Phone has great clarity. Excellent value Cons: Answering machine is a bit quirky
This is a great value in a 2.4 GHz phone with answering machine for less than $50!
As for the phone, we could not be happier. We have found the phone to have better sound quality than our old 900 MHz phone. It also has a better range, as we...
Pros: -Sleek, stylish design
-Comfortable
-Superb range Cons: -Performs poorly after a few months
I purchased this phone for $44 at Wal-Mart. I was impressed with the size and comfort of the phone. It also has a very sleek look to it. The range was unbeatable and needed at least 300 feet to get static interference. The thing that bothered me from ...
Pros: Nice answering machine Cons: Worse reception than any other phone that I have owned
If you live in a small house or apartment, then this phone may not be too bad. If you plan to go down/up stairs or outside, forget it!! This phone has the worse reception of any phone I have ever owner. As you move away from the main unit, the call...
Pros: Compact, great clarity, easy to set up Cons: only came in a silver/black color
I have done a lot of research on answering machine/ cordless phone units. I had originally decided to go with a Uniden model. But, when I went to my local Target I found the GE 27990GE3 and quickly changed my mind. This unit is very compact. So, it takes...
Pros: good sound quality Cons: several intermittent problems
Brand new out of the box, phone had an unimpressive range of not more than 400 feet. The answering machine's electronic voice is slow and cumbersome. After just a few months of ownership this phone started to have serious sporadic problems. Several...
Pros: Can withstand some rain. Nice CID features. Cons: 4 button is harder to press after 2 years of phone use.
GE cordless phone 2.4 Ghz. This phone can withstand rain for at least 3 hours and it dried out fine. However, the 4 button needs to be pressed harder than the other buttons. Not sure if this happened because of rain or being dropped. I don't like the phone because when I cradle the phone in my neck it is easy to hit buttons and/or hang up on someone. Also the redial and channel buttons are too small and some of the text on the phone is too small to read very well. I used to have Caller ID and I liked this phone a lot as it was a nice way to keep all my frequently called numbers stored in the phone itself. But now we don't use CID, so it's not a feature I care about much. I like the placement of the volume buttons. I don't bump them at all. I never used the headset feature so I can't say if that works well or not.
Pros: Clear, long range Cons: Can't see caller id, short battery dead warning
The Good:
Volume control makes hearing a breeze, reception is clear over most of my 1 acre. Small foot print of base (mine sits on a stereo speaker). Built pretty good, this one has taken countless spills on the ceramic tile without ill effects. Buttons light up, the antenna lights up. It has a pager (or find me beep) so I can find it after my wife or daughter uses it. Charges pretty quick.
The Bad:
When the battery runs low, it beeps, about two or three times before it just dies. The timing is such that you have about 1 or 2 seconds NOT enough to get to another phone. No advanced warning, just BEEP, couple seconds BEEP and some times one more (depends how close to another phone you are I swear) then it shuts off.
The Ugly:
Our (ahem, forty something) eyes can not see the LCD display. There is just not enough contrast between the dark gray letters/numbers and the medium gray background. Plus they are rather small in size. Even with my reading glasses I have to get in bright light to read it. Kind of makes the caller id worthless.
Good features. Bad sound quality by storgendibal ,Jan 18 '04
Pros: Feature rich, Compact and attractive styling Cons: Poor sound quality, Lacks volume control
(Note, this review is for the 27930GE3 model, which does NOT include an answering machine)
This unit is well styled, with a modern looking and comfortable receiver unit and a compact base unit. The phone has several features, most important for me were a mute button, caller ID, and a backlit display. At $29.95 at Target for a 2.4 GHz phone it seemed like the perfect buy.
The first problem I noted with the phone was that the control beeps (the tones that sound when working the phone's controls) were too loud with no way to adjust their volume. And while there are three ringer tones, there are no way to adjust their volume. Finally, the earpiece volume *is* adjustable, but only to three levels. The second problem occurred when I received my first call. My friend who was calling me immediately inquired whether I had a and cold or a broken telephone. She stated that my voice sounded distant and fuzzy. Changing channels did not help. Further, while I spoke I could hear a clicking sound.
