Pros: Great special effects (especially if you see it in 3-D) Cons: Weak script
I had heard that the best thing about the re-re-re-make of "Journey to the Center of the Earth" were the 3-D special effects. A few weeks ago, I noticed that one of my local theaters was installing the special devices needed to see the new 3-D. ...
Pros: Good for the whole family; fun; occupies seven kids at once! Cons: 3-D got annoying; was just barely average
As a slightly better looking reincarnation of the absent-minded professor, Trevor Anderson spends most of his days and nights at the lab on the college campus where he works, staring at blips on a screen that represent volcanic activity around the world. ...
Pros: Brendan Fraiser Cons: did not stick to story and just was not that entertaining
My daughter and husband really wanted to see this movie. Well my husband ended up having duty last Friday night so I thought I would get out of having to go and see it. That is until my husband asked our daughter to tell him all about it. I was ...
Pros: An Icelandic actress plays an Icelandic mountain guide Cons: poor special effects and worse script
Monkey Girl has to adjust to me going back to work. It’s a bit hard for her. This week she was with a different friend everyday and it was tough for her. So I figured we needed a daughter/mommy day with a movie and lunch. The problem is she is ten. When ...
Pros: Cool affects, and creatures, the 3-D was pretty neat. Cons: Poor character development, lacked in some explanation.
My 4 year old finally mastered the skill of sitting through an entire movie this summer, and after nearly 4 years of seeing nothing but the occasional children’s movie at the theater, I have really been taking advantage of the opportunity to go to movies ...
Pros: Brendan Fraser is really funny, CGI work wasn't too bad Cons: Not a great plot. It was missing something
We went to the drive-in movies last night. I think we have the only running drive-in in the state of Ohio. They always play 2 movies and Journey to the Center of the Earth was one of them. I had wanted to see this movie ever since I saw the ...
Remember those flimsy cardboard glasses with the blue and red cellophane that were supposed to help us watch movies "come alive" in 3-D? They never worked for me. Maybe it was my prescription glasses, and the fact that the paper lenses never fit ...
Pros: Nice characterizations, splendid effects and thrill sequences Cons: Pokey opening scenes and exposition
The same critics who got all misty-eyed at the return of Indiana Jones are carping about the lack of plausibility in Journey to the Center of the Earth. How is it, for example, that the movie's hero comes upon a century-old, abandoned mine shaft ...
Pros: great special effects, lots of 3D fun Cons: unbelievable
Journey to the Center of the Earth 3D was a lot of fun for every family! All age groups will have a blast and there are some very beautiful scenes! This was actually the first 3D movie I have seen as an actual movie. I mean, I’ve seen the ...
Pros: Non-offensive for children and tweens, enough tension for adults. Cons: Some continuity glitches distract the viewer from the plot.
We decided to see this movie on the spur of the moment, based on the novelty of seeing something in 3-d. Our first problem was finding a theater that offered the 3-d experience. Many theaters are showing the movie, but not all are showing it in 3-d. It ...
Pros: all the great qualities mentioned, especially the 3D quality Cons: will not be the same when not in theaters with 3D glasses
This movie is really awesome, lively, and breathtaking. There is non-stop action that can keep you at the edge of your seat all the way through. With 3D added to the amazing technology and sound effects they have for movies these days, it could look and ...
Pros: Action-packed. Cons: Cheesy. Too unbelievable...lots of deathly drops with not so much as a bruise.
This is SOOOO much better in 3-D. As a regular movie it just is cheesy. I do not enjoy a movie that is too incredulous for even mirth...more like eye-rolling. Young kids enjoy it, but not enough dinosaurs, which really is the hope of all kids--right? I ...
Pros: Interesting, Believable, Good Plot. Cons: Unrealistic Parts (End, Plants, Falls), Could of spent more time on the ending.
I would have to say. I have seen many movies that have been based on something that is quite "unreal". I was very curious to see how they would take something that no one really knows about, besides the facts. I wanted to see if they could take such a ...
Journey on the surface of the earth 3-d by lukasz ,Mar 25 '09
Pros: Well i can only find one ,which is 3-D. Cons: Not an adaptation of the book.
I am very dissapointed in this movie ,i can't really call it an adaptation of the Jules Verne book ,because it wouldn't be honest.Movie lacks character and without 3d technology it's just another movie you shouldn't go to the movie theater to see.I noticed that 3d parts in this movie are indeed scary for the kids and predictable to adults, which made my movie expierience even worse. If you are a fan of Jules Verne talent and his marvelous book "The Journey to the center of the earth" i advice you save the money renting a DVD and read the book one more time.As i pointed out in the title of this review the movie barely scratches the surface of the journey to the center of the earth and in my opinion is not worth watching.
