Sweet merciful heavens this is the bloodiest movie ever made, i think some splattered on me while sitting in the 15th row. If you watch this movie as a drama with a story of revenge it's very good, but if you watch it as an over the top homage to kung fu movies by the likes of the shaw brothers, then it is downright incredible. The fight scenes are brutal , fast paced and frequent, Uma Thurman commands your attention and the script is sharply written and darkly hilarious. This movie with trailers and ads comes close to the 3 hour mark, but with all that's going on,the time just breezes by. Simple plot; revenge. The dialogue is effortless and the supporting cast keeps the story moving, The action is constant , and of course Quentin Tarentino throws in a pop reference or two. and instead of a noir-inspired sequence, an anime sequence that is as gruesome as a coroners examination. Violent , intelligent and beautiful camera work. Go see it with the guys.
