Pros: Hilarious, sweet, actors are all amazing, great pacing, truly a unique experience Cons: It's over 2 hours long, but you don't notice
On average, and bare in mind this is a statistical fact, Hollywood releases about 10 actually good movies a year. Rarely do these movies get released during the summer, which is primarily saved for ultra-budget, special effects laden extravaganzas that ...
Pros: FUNNY! all the characters each have their great funny scenes in the movie. never dull Cons: some graphic visuals and explanations of child birth
A great movie with sometimes quick, dry humor. Good movie for the adult crowd especially those expecting and already parents. although i still found it extremely funny even though i have never had a child. There is never a dull moment in this film, you ...
Pros: Laughed til I hurt, good story, great characters, feel-good movie Cons: I wish Jane Lynch had a cameo!
Judd Apatow is really hammering out some of the best comedies I've seen lately. His TV shows (Freaks and Geeks, Undeclared) and The 40 Year Old Virgin all have an extremely high laugh factor. I also like how he continues to make movies revolving mostly ...
Pros: Characters are Very relatable and is just like real life. Cons: There are a little too many curse words in it.
This is such a good movie. The characters are very relatable and they keep you laughing the whole time. This movie is about a guy and girl who have a one night stand at a club and get “knocked up”, as the title tells you. The events that occur during the ...
In 2005 amidst the summer blockbuster of huge, action films, and superhero movies, rated R comedies came back with a vengeance thanks to the success of Wedding Crashers. Another rated R comedy that became a hit was The 40-Year-Old Virgin ...
Pros: The performance of every actor in the cast, especially Katherine Hiegl & Leslie Man Cons: At times it can be redundant.
'Knocked Up' is a comedy that addresses the consequence of casual sex originating from celebratory drinking done in excess. The majority of sexually active adults have dealt with the morning after scenario, where alcohol made a person so alluring that ...
Pros: Has both stupid fun and real issues with a good moral happy ending Cons: The ending is a little strange and unexpected, but in a good way!
I really liked this movie because while it had the silly stupid funny moments for guys, the end really allowed the female date counterparts to enjoy at least some of the movie. Great date movie! The Katherine Heigl and the main guy really work well ...
Pros: Rogen is a great leading man. Excellent ensemble comedy. Manages to be sweet and hilarious. Cons: Apatow lets some scenes run on too long.
Judd Apatow strikes again with another R-rated comedy that manages to be funny and sweet at the same time. It's refreshing for someone like Apatow to be churning out comedies. In an era where Hollywood tries to trim movies so they can get a PG-13 rating ...
Pros: REAL BELLY LAUGHS, REALISTIC CHARACTERS, SCENES AND DIALOG Cons: I DON'T CARE HOW DRUNK YOU ARE, CASUALSEX ISN'T A GOOD IDEA.
KID ACTORS SUCKED
I loved it and everyone (who won't let a few curse words, sex scenes and a lot of marijuana innuendos ruin a film for them) should see it. I haven't seen a movie that had me laughing all the way through in a while. The writer/director also wrote "40 ...
Pros: Very, very funny;
Great acting with not-so-familiar faces Cons: Graphic content during birth scene
I was worried when I saw this movie that all of the funny parts had been given away during the previews that aired on television prior to its release. While the previews did highlight some of the funniest scenes of Knocked Up, I was pleasantly ...
Pros: Funny. Hilarious. Instant Comedy Classic for this generation of films. Cons: I could've gone without the birthing scene.
This was one of the funniest movies I have ever seen. I'm not a big fan of the slap-stick comedies. I prefer comedies with a message and some depth. And as crude as Knocked Up was, it hit the spot for me. Basic Rundown of the movie, without giving ...
Pros: Hilarious script, likeable characters, strangely heartwarming Cons: Some may be turned off by the pervasive swearing, occasionally drags
Unplanned pregnancy...is there anything more hilarious? Well, yes. Many things. It's actually a very distressing and uncomfortable thing for those going through it, and can hurt a person's reputation or put their job in jeopardy. But hey, when two of ...
I went to see this when on a work related trip. It was hilarious. There is strong language, drug use and of course as per the title sex...but it is a must see. It is a typical boy meets girl, they get drunk, have sex, she gets pregnant, but the ...
Pros: Funny, life like, funny, funny, funny Cons: Foul language
This movie was hilarious. It was a true knee slapping comedy. The script was written true to life. I could see so much of what was said really being said. And I think I actually know some people just like the stoners! The actors did an excellent job with ...
Anyone who attacks Knocked Up for "only exploring the male's point of view" is missing out some of the film's best observations: take, for example, its jabs at suburban paranoia and Hollywood anorexia. Early on, female lead Alison Scott (Katherine ...
Pros: Lots of laughs, quirky characters. Cons: Foul language, crude humor may turn some people off.
"Knocked Up" is one of this Summer's new releases. It was written and produced by Judd Apatow (the director of 40 Year Old Virgin). The cast includes several characters that starred in 40 Year Old Virgin and has a lot of the same humor. The ...
Knocked Up is an adult comedy about a beautiful young professional woman who finds herself pregnant with a rather undesirable guy. It stars Katherine Heigl of Gray’s Anatomy and is from the same people who made The 40 Year-Old ...
Pros: The Cast and the writing Cons: Might be a little long for some (not for me!)
Knocked Up isn’t the sort of movie I will normally go see in the theater. It’s the sort I would normally wait to rent or wait for a friend to bring it over or maybe wait for it to show up on cable. 40 Year-Old Virgin was fun and all but not $10 (or more ...
Pros: good jokes and characters, has more going on than the typical comedy Cons: not as funny as 40-Year-Old Virgin
As I see it, Knocked Up is the unofficial sequel to The 40-Year-Old Virgin. Writer-director-producer Judd Apatow was the creative force behind both films, which are thematically related. Both are about nice people, overwhelmed a bit by the whole ...
Pros: Heigl, Rogen, Mann, Rudd, story Cons: The movie runs a little long
They thought their night together was going to be a one-night stand. A couple of months later, the woman calls the man with some news that is going to change both of their lives. It's not an easy call, for neither expected to see the other again. As they ...
Pros: Very entertaining with plenty of laughs, mostly great cast. Cons: Drags at a couple of points.
After three consecutive weeks of disappointing summer movies, mr_chelledun and I had almost given up all hope of an enjoyable movie season. Fortunately, the raunchy comedy Knocked Up proved to be a winner and renewed our faith in film. This ...
Pros: Rogen, Heigl and the rest of the cast, touching Cons: a lot of crude humor
A few years ago, if I had seen the trailers for Judd Apatow's Knocked Up, I probably would not have said to myself, "Now, that is a movie I need to see." One-night stands? Potty humor? Excessive profanity? R rating? Sounds more like something ...
Pros: Lots of laughs mixed with a well told story Cons: The 130 minute running length could have been shortened.
A couple of more comedies like Knocked Up and we may have to start referring to 2007 as the year of the comedy. Two months ago, Edward Wrights Hot Fuzz won the praise of the majority of the movie critics and now this beauty and ...
Pros: Good plot, believable acting, and warm fuzzies. Cons: Cameo by Ryan Seacrest, a lot of pot smoking, bad language.
The events that occur in this movie, however unlikely in real life they might be, give a certain satisfaction by showing that no matter what background 2 people may come from, under the right circumstances they can still come...together! The basics of ...
Pros: *Romantic Comedy / Drama *Katherine Heigl *Seth Rogen Cons: *Language, nudity and drug use may put some off R rating for a reason
One of the great things about being on vacation is going to an afternoon matinee during the week. Not something I get to do very often since I’m usually taking care of 3 – 5 children everyday. Today my husband and I grabbed a few munchies and ...
Pros: Funny Commentary Cons: A lot of adult language
Funny movie if you like the type of humor present in the 40 year old virgin. Knocked Up includes atleast 4 of the same actors from that movie. It has funny parts dealing with a lot of sexual and some drug humor. However, this movie also deals with a ...
Pros: Heart warming comedy Cons: There are referances to drugs and alcohol in this movie.
Knocked up is a funny interpretation by the director of "40 year old virgin" of how a one night stand can turn into a major life decision. The two people least prepared for bringing a life into this world are the main characters ...
Pros: Funny to a great extent, simple. Cons: Critics might say it is anti-feminist (I don't think so).
When you see the name "Judd Apatow" in credits you know what to expect. And the film does not disappoints. Unlike some of the other comedy movies like "The Heartbreak Kid" and "Meet the Fockers" which I found quite disgusting, Knocked Up was a sweet, ...
Pros: great humor; not uptight; off-color humor Cons: lots of profanity (mostly the F bomb)
I'm typically a pretty laid-back parent when it comes to movies, but this is one that I probably WOULD NOT let a pre-teen or early teen watch. (Of course, that's totally parental discretion) It's absolutely hilarious for adults but some of the content is ...
Pros: Appeals to both men and women, not solely a "chick flick" Cons: Has a definitive "snooze factor". Too simple of a storyline with scenes that drag.
“Knocked Up” is a comedy about a woman who goes to a club, meets a guy, becomes inebriated, gets knocked up, and decides to keep the baby. Yes, you are seeing correctly, I just put the whole storyline in one sentence. When I first saw this movie come ...
Pros: Good comedy, slapstick humour Cons: lots of swearing, can get corny
Note: some parts of the plot may be revealed in this review My husband and I watched this movie together while the kids were in bed – which is how I would recommend this movie be seen – there is a lot of swearing! Katherine Heigl does a good job of ...
Pros: Katherine Heigl of course. Cons: The movie has a been there, done that feel.
Okay I’ll be honest, I’ll come clean; Katherine Heigl was prime motivator in going to see Knocked Up (2006). Next to my wife she is probably one of the only women in America whom I would die for. Perhaps that is a (slight) exaggeration, but you ...
Pros: Katherine Heigl, Seth Rogen, Leslie Mann, Paul Rudd; Comedy, Drama, Romance. Not a chick flick. Cons: Some parts are draggy; needs editing. Where's the wedding?
Knocked Up is not really a bad movie but it's been done before. It may be hip with stoner friends and close to a lot of updated real life situations with young people who barely know each other or who barely know themselves and end up with a possible ...
Pros: The acting was nicely done. Quite a few good laughs. Cons: The pregnant sex part just really would leave a viewer a bit irritated than aroused.
When I got the chance to watch this movie, I really couldn't help but laugh. I must say, it's a bit annoying but in a good way. Too much graphics! We all know that people really can have a one night stand and get pregnant but it's quite rare that the ...
When I saw the previews for this movie I cannot even express the excitement that I felt. There was FINALLY another movie with Katherine Heigl as a main character! Because it had been a while since The Ringer and Love Comes Softly, I was eager to see what ...
Cons: Heigl, bad stereotypes, lazy jokes, bitterness
"Knocked Up" should've been a cute, laughable romp about parenthood, life, and love. Instead, it's a harsh critique on the sexes and a dismal look at the worst in human nature. The movie stars Katherine Heigl (a grossly overrated beauty) and ...
Pros: For a raunchy, younger crowd Cons: Filthy, trash
I hated this movie. Knocked Up got such rave reviews from viewers and critics. The commercials were so funny. The idea was a little off but really, in our society it sadly happens and so might as well make the best of it and make fun of it. And it ...
Pros: The closing credits. Cons: The storyline, the sexist clichés, the dialogue, the music...
The writing was barely tolerable and the acting definitely compensated for the writing. The movie just didn't cut it and honestly, television is better. Why pay $10 for a story that is more implausible than _Independence Day_. After all, no woman ...
Best. Movie. Of. All. Time. by beckrbug ,Jun 14 '07
Pros: Hysterical, great dialogue, not too long, happy ending. Cons: There are no cons - go see this movie.
I went to go see Knocked Up last weekend and I was absolutely delighted. This movie kept me laughing the whole time. It had something for the guys and something for the ladies - this is a fantastic movie to see with your guy because as soon as it gets mushy, someone says something gross. The end is especially heartwarming and I would take Seth Rogen over Brad Pitt any day of the week.
Pros: ROGEN Cons: A little too long for the movie, they drug it out too long.
Feel god movie, sad at points made me cry, surely a buy movie, great acting, a little long on the story line though. Typical movie you could almost predict what was going to happen, down right GREAT MOVIE though.
Pros: Good length film gets right to the point. Cons: personally, I have no cons. Wow.
Ok. Be nice, this is my first ever review. Overall you will laugh your pants off. The characters picked for this film were by far the best choice made. I enjoyed the sarcastic humor on this film and if you like classic comedy then you will enjoy this film.
Stoners get all the hot chicks? by lilymac ,Mar 11 '08
Pros: Funny, music, nudity Cons: trying to be too cool with the language
Only when they are drunk hot chicks... this movie had me laughing from the start. With a cast like this you can't go wrong, besides some of the vernacular becoming too written out. Check it out/
Knocked Up: NOT Worth the Second Look by djh27521 ,Jul 21 '07
Pros: Pretty women and some funny lines. Cons: Excessive vulgar language.
This movie should be shown in every high school as a reason not to sleep with people you do not know. Talk about making poor decisions over and over again. The language in some parts is so over the top it distracts you. Do people really talk like this? I know it's supposed to be a romantic comedy but it goes so overboard that it was a little disturbing. The guy's trip to Las Vegas seems to be the movies attempt to have a reality check and to do what is right but they seem to forget to do what is right when they get back home. If you love lots and lots of bad language, women's breasts and drug use you will probably like this movie. This is definitely a guy's movie and does have some funny parts and interesting lines to it but to me they could have deleted about fifty percent of the language and shortened the movie by about an hour! The moral of the story is that LOVE is what you settle for or get stuck with. The best part of this movie is the pictures shown with the credits at the very end.
