My experience was a delight! Laptops For Less has a variety of products that met my needs. The customer service was responsive, knowledgeable, and low-pressure. I was promised delivery by 11/25/02 and it arrived on time and in usable condition. I...
I ordered a hard-to-find AC/DC adapter from laptops for less for a Linksys router. This particular adapter was only available from one seller on Amazon, and this was a third-party seller without any sort of recommendations. I found the adapter cheaper ...
They delivered the advertised product on time. No hidden charges appeared on my account, they play no games. The battery lasted as long as the original one when it was new, so I am happy to get it for half the IBM...
Shopping at Laps Tops for Less is my worst shopping experience. I am still struggling with them. First they sent me a defected product (a power adapter for my notebook) and I returned the defective product to them and they said: "we are going to send ...
I was very pleased with this company. The sales rep helped me with a technical question and picking the right part for my laptop. Their prices are excellent and the delivery was right on time. I will buy from them...
I ordered a battery for my IBM laptop. It turned out to be a peice of crap. After one charge-up, it wouldn't work any more. I called customer service and talked to some rude witch who laughed at me.
Many months later, I discovered that a company called Travel Values Plus had been taking money out of my bank account without my permission. I called them up and they told me I had signed up for their crap when I placed my order at Laptops for Less. It seems that Laptops for Less must have some sort of hidden deceptive deal that you had to opt out of or something. I'm not even sure how it happened exactly, but Ive had a similar experience with Real Player. These companies are rip-off artists!
I did succeed in getting the hundreds of dollars that Travel Values Plus stole from me credited back to my debit card, after calling and threatening to take them to court etc..
Return Policy is Misleading by jimgene ,Feb 22 '08
I returned a purchase I made within the time frame they a lot but to my surprise, they charged a restocking fee.
When you go into your account from the invoice they send you via email, look up there return policy, there is no mention of a restocking charge. Don't assume that you are on their web site, because you are not!
When you call customer service to get a RMA# in order to return an item, the customer service rep does not inform you of this charge either. After calling and receiving my RMA from their customer service rep, I thought I had all the info I needed.
Terrible first and last time experience. by gatorfan07 ,Oct 20 '06
Do not deal with these people. Search on the internet for all the bad ratings. They constantly send the wrong item. Unless you want to wait an extra week to 2 weeks to receive the item you actually ordered go elsewhere.
Bad service! Can't get item sent after 9 days & counting! by kipdozier ,Oct 31 '06
Don't order from here. After 9 days I still have not been able to get customer service to ship the bulb. They don't care about customer service. I am going to order from another company who will ship the next day. If this order is two big for them they are apparently working out of a shed!
The two transactions I have had with them have been a nitemare. The first was for a portable Battery system, that among other things was supposed to work with a Motorola V3 phone. After receiving it it was not compatable. I called three times, average wait about 30 minutes. When I finally spoke with someone I was told that it really was NOT compatable, and that there was a misprint on the site. I returned it, and only after three weeks and two phone calls did I get a refund. IF YOU CHECK THEIR SITE, THE SAME MIS-INFORMATION IS THERE.
My second experience was with the purchase of a battery for my iPAQ. It took four weeks to get the battery, and when it did arrive, it did not work. I spoke with them and returned it, and it has been over two weeks and no replacement in spite of two calls.
Product didn't fit and who knows when I'll get my money back by amundo ,May 01 '07
I ordered a replacement bulb for my 50v500 and it didn't fit. So I sent it back. I tracked the package and the afternoon it was delivered I called Laptops for less and asked them when my account would be credited. The operator told me it would be at least a couple of weeks because they were "backed up " with returns. So now I have to wait for them to finally get to MY return before my account is credited and I can buy another lamp. I wonder why they have so many returns? Or why it takes several weeks to credit someones account. I think this is a one person operation with a fancy website and no real direction. I feel very uneasy about how long it will actually take to receive my money. I would never shop here again and I wouldn't recommend this site to anybody. Pay the extra 10-20 dollars and get a trusted product from a trusted company. This site offers neither.
My experience with this company was horrible. The LCD TV projector lamp took nearly a week to arrive (an excessive amount of time to be without a $2,300 HDTV), and was defective upon arrival. After a long distance phone call, I was informed that a replacement would only be sent after receipt of the defective unit, resulting in nearly 3 WEEKS without my TV.
I recommend purchasing from a company willing to stand behind its products, and offer IMMEDIATE (overnite) replacement of faulty products.
I will not purchase from Laptops for Less again. by lorihc ,Apr 12 '06
Please be careful and read all the small (and large print). In my case, the picture of the product was not the actual product and I think was misleading. Although the description listed the camera battery I purchased as OEM compatible, the picture was of an NP-800 listed as $39.00. The actual NP-800 is around $59 - $70. I found the same battery I received (the en-el 1) on other websites for $14 - $21!!! When I received my battery--a label was placed over the en-el 1 info that said "NP-800". I contacted customer service and he stated that it was a good deal and I could return it but with a restocking fee and since it was free shipping I basically should be happy with it. I did mention that I purchased from them due to the picture and seemingly trustworthiness, but that I was extremely unhappy and would not recommend them.
The product was suppose to be in stock. It was not, but they immediately notified me of the outstock condition, and the item was sent 3 days later, quickly. I was satisfied that they notified me quickly and shipped quickly once it was in stock. Read more

The battery I received was not working. I contacted the vendor and a replacement battery was shipped the same day. Unfortunately they did not ship the battery overnight to me for free but did ship the replacement free going ground. They just need to do a better job of quality control. Read more
