The Epson Stylus Photo 785EPX may be the best value photo inkjet printer around based on its hi-res six color printing (for showing fine gradations in color and contrast) reasonable price, useful features, and high-quality prints. Epson’s 785EPX is the...
Pros: Excellent Photo Quality printing, Roll paper ready Cons: Adaptors needed for different memory cards
I was in the market for a photo quality printer and read a review in Maximum PC on photo printers. To those of you who only reference PC World or PC Magazine, pick up a copy of Maximum PC. They are truly a high end computer magazine, and do not sing...
Pros: Excellent print quality, particularly on special photo paper. Relatively small footprint, memory card support. Cons: Noisy, sometimes color correction features do not work properly.
First off, I should say that I use my Epson 785EPX in conjunction with my Olympus 3040, which is a very good digital camera. I also print scanned photos using the Epson, and have had good results all around.
Pros: produces quality prints Cons: text prints are slow
Epson Stylus Photo 785EPX is in the mid price range of printers. It is an inkjet printer. For $199 users get speed, and good quality prints. Of course, users should expect all this in more expensive models.
Pros: Good quality print jobs, inexpensive ink, multiple features. Cons: Slooooooooow, HUGE, doesn't come w/required USB cable.
I sorted through all the photographs I've ever taken throughout my entire life the other day and found the whole experience to be rather amusing. I threw out about half of the pictures, most of them containing a dozen pictures of blurred faces,...
Pros: excellent quality, quiet, prints directly from flash memory Cons: slow, moderate learning curve
I purchased the Epson 785EPX two weeks ago after some research into ink jet photo printers. I recommend the printer to anyone wanting high quality prints who doesn't mind a moderately steep learning curve.
Pros: Great pictures, can plug in SmartFlash cards and print without a computer, Cons: A little slow (faster when printing with a computer)
I have to admit that I've only had this printer for a few days, but I've printed at least 100 pictures already so I feel that I can write a fairly accurate review. I had been looking for a good quality printer that would print directly from my digital...
Pros: Great photo prints, borderless pics, takes various cards Cons: Needs card adapters, printing borderless a bit confusing
I got this printer as a Christmas gift and although I haven't used it much, I really do love it. Ink for inkjets is slightly expensive, so I try to use it sparingly. I just purchased a color and black cartridge from Staples and they cost approx. $45...
Pros: Great value for the money, great quality output Cons: Output tray is flimsy, does eat ink when doing high quality prints
I purchased my 785EPX a few days ago, and I have tested it on many types of different shots that I have taken with my Sony DSC-P31 Camera (which has 2.1 Megapixels). I usually run the camera on its 640x480 mode so that I can have more pictures, but I...
Pros: Photo-like quality, good ink prices Cons: If you print photos, ink runs out quickly. Hi-res printing is slow.
I just replaced an older Epson (720dpi) that I've had for a few years, and this one works much better. It goes without saying that the print quality is far superior, but it's faster, and handles paper better. I was happy when I upgraded to that older...
Pros: Great photo quality prints. Excellent value. Cons: Software takes some time to master. Some features not usable with networks.
If you want a printer that will give you prints that are virtually indistinguishable from a film print, then this your printer. For well under $200, this printer is a real value. I have long been an HP fan and have used their printers and scanners for...
Pros: Beautiful print jobs: especially photography and artwork Cons: Slow on high-resolution jobs, waste of expen$ive ink and/or paper, clogs easily
I bought this printer almost 2 years ago...was excited to get rid of my old one as it was too slow. I am an artist and need to see my work accurately represented on paper. When this printer works, the results are amazing...the color is perfect and ...
Pros: Greatttttt pictures. Good text. Cons: Loud. Tall.
I was using an Epson Stylus 740 printer that went down on me. I went to the "pros" at the computer stores and kept getting different advice. They told me that the HP was better because of the 2880x2880 DPI. I took glossy photo paper into the stores and...
Pros: Astounding photo quality. No, I really mean it, absolutely brilliant photos. Cons: Software is somewhat of a disappointment
.
Let me start by saying that I am using a 3.3 megapixel Epson 3100z camera with this printer. The prints blew me a way. The guys at work couldn't believe they came from a digital camera and printer. They look like magazine quality.
That being said, I...
Pros: Great Quality, color, detail Cons: a little noisy, a little slow but it is worth the quality
I Have only had this printer for about 12 hours now but I can already tell it is the best printer I have ever bought. I use this printer to only print photographs off of a midranged digital camera . This printer works great for that. The quality is...
Pros: Excellent quality photos. Great value. Accepts Flash cards. Cons: A little noisy.
The Epson Stylus Photo 785EPX was my first photo printer. I was really surprised to see how good the quality was for such a low priced printer. 10 times better than my epson that came with my computer. I print on Epson paper and set my photo software on...
Pros: Big name product - Epson.
Not too expensive initial cost. Cons: Expensive ink. Terrible quality prints and colors. Noise acceptable if print quality better.
We bought this product for the Epson name and because the Epson rep was at the store where we were shopping and he sold us on this printer. I took a Photoshop class at the local community college and was trying to make some prints for class and ...
Pros: Price and rebates Cons: Print quality not as expected and drinks ink.
I found this printer for a bargain with a rebate as well. After reading a few reviews I felt it would be a nice addition to print decent digital photos. Set up was easy and software included was decent. As I am out of USB ports, a serial interface...
Pros: Excellent Color Pictures comparable to the more expensive Epson 1280 model. Cons: The memory card viewer screen is a $99.00 extra
After making large color prints on my Epson 1280 (up to 13X19 inches), this smaller 785EPX print quality is the same as it's larger brother. Both printers drink ink, but the prints are fast drying and virtually will last for years according to Epson...
Pros: Nice index print ("contact sheet") Cons: Doesn't work (stand-alone) with 16MB SD card
Against my advice, my dad purchased this printer and a Kodak CX4230 camera for my mom for Christmas. She doesn't have, nor does she want a computer - hence the decision on this stand-alone printer. It is supposed to be able to print photos directly...
Pros: Great photo printing quality (when it is not clogged). Excellent price. Cons: Extremely small ink cartridges. Chronic nozzle clogs.
Update 12/29/03. Well.... The magic is gone. We just went through about 5 ink cartridges attempting to clear a clogged nozzle. After doing some searching on the net, it appears that clogged nozzles are common with Epson printers. I even tried ...
Pros: Excellent photo quality. PC slot for card adapter. Cons: None of the software for printing or editing was compatible with XP.
I love this little printer. Sure it is a little noisy and bulky but for the price I am extremely satisfied. I printed Christmas cards this year and they were of equal or better quality than the photo shop here in town. I have found that the type of paper...
Pros: Awesome photo quality on Epson papers Cons: Expensive ink cartridges
Waste lots of ink clearing clogs
I have a love-hate relationship with this printer. As a very serious amateur photographer, I love the quality of prints I can make with this printer and all of the different digital cameras I've used, including a Nikon D100.
Pros: The photo print quality is very good. Cons: Everything else is very poor.
I replaced an HP 722C with this printer as the HP utilities could not be used with Windows XP. I read the reviews, checked all the prices and ordered the Epson. I was concerned when I installed it and I realized how noisy and bouncy it was when it went...
Pros: This printer works on demand. I liked it at first, and it prints drafts fast. Cons: noisy, jams, stops working, needs multiple head cleanings!
This printer is CRAP! It not only is noisy, but the paper also jams. Epson doesn't tell you this, but after a high volume of printing, a screen will pop-up, without warning, that your printer is at it's service life and needs servicing. What they don't tell you is that it cost more to have it "serviced" than it does to buy a new printer. Epson has a counter inside that let's it know how many pages you have printed. When it reaches that magic number, the printer stops working...even if there is nothing wrong with it!
I have a circa 1997 printer that prints so much better than this piece of junk. Since the day we pulled it out of the box nothing has worked right...
1)The ink bleeds even if the right paper selection is made,
2)The paper jams constantly,
3)Envelopes can't be printed without smudges of ink drops on the sheet,
4)The color is never right...purples print red, greens look blue, etc...You have to guess which color to use on a document to get the color you really want to print
5)Photo quality looks like a bad copy machine
6)Constantly needs the replacing of ink cartridges which aren't cheap
7) Paper loads crooked, so type is not straight across page
Don't wast your money on this one! Unfortunately I am stuck with a lemon and I continue to have to use my old printer which is still far superior.
I was lucky enough to get in on the $100 rebate offer and free memory card adapter so for $100 this is a great deal and printer. In just 5 minutes after receiving the adapter I was printing the index and beautiful pictures without any problems. Would highly recommend it. Easy to following directions and readable buttons and viewing window. The color was great and dried in just a few minutes.
