Pros: Ummmmm........ It's cheap if you purchase the right phone services?
Cons: It didn't work reliably. Staff reluctant to explain why.
I hope that you will humor me because I am about to rant. Before I begin, you might want to grab your beverage of choice and a snack, because I think this is going to take a while. I am one very ticked off consumer, and by God, I'm going to rant about...

Cons: everything in the entire SBC experience
I'm so sorry! I didn't listen to people I trust! I signed up for SBCyahoo, even though I'd already read the horror stories! And boy, am I sorry I did! A short chronology is in order, I suppose: I signed up for SBC's DSL service about a month ...

Pros: Reasonable price; web pages load quickly.
Cons: Actual download speeds do not come close to advertised download speeds.

Pros: Fast, reliable, works as advertised, all necessary equipment included at little to no cost.
Cons: Clunky, buggy, disjointed software.
Intro - I guess I’m a relative newcomer to the internet. Sure, I’ve been around for a few years now but I’ve only been online since sometime in 2000. Like many people, when I bought my first computer, the internet connection ...

Thank you for choosing Static IP's

by bvckvs , Mar 09 '04
Pros: It's the only service available in NE Dallas.
Cons: Frequently can't deliver promised services.
It really grinds me when the support techs at SBC Yahoo! read the parts of their scripts where they thank me for "choosing" their DSL service. It's the only one available in my area - and that, just barely. I live in a residential ...

When my cable internet service was going to jack up its prices, I decided to switch to DSL. Supposedly it was supposed to also be fast and reliable, plus they had a deal where it would be $34/month for 6 months. What a huge, huge mistake I made.

Good Deal: SBC Yahoo DSL for $14.95 (or 16.99)/mo

by aloofyouth , Nov 08 '05
Pros: Cheap, fast, and gets a bad rap.
Cons: Up front costs, 1-year contract. Check sbc.yahoo.com for availability in your area.
I was surprised to see the degree of venom that people spat out at SBC. Sure, the company had hiccups, but it's not bad if you live in a major metropolitan area. I think maybe people don't write reviews of services as often when the services work, but ...
