Pros: Excellent sound from earpiece; elegant design; beautiful (if not superlative) screen Cons: Ringer volume can only be adjusted by going into the menu; can't re-label phone numbers
While looking for a no-frills phone (i.e., with no camera), I tried a M
otorola
v180, and found it basically unusable. So my T-Mobile sales rep suggested the brand-new Samsung x475, and I've ...
Pros: phone looks nice, easy setup, most necessary features included Cons: poor battery life, dropped calls, volume fluctuates without the users' control
Ahhhh, the cell phone For quite a while I have developed a love/hate relationship with these devices. When the cell phone craze first developed several years ago in the late 90s, I thought many of those who carried these little phones ...
Pros: Small for a flip phone, dual LCD displays, sturdy, easy to use interface, includes headset Cons: Battery rated for only three hours of talk time
I recently switched my phone service to T-Mobile, and along with the new service plan came a new mobile phone, the Samsung x475. The x475 normally costs $119, but T-Mobile was running a promotion and the phone was free. Having had the opportunity to ...
Pros: Great Phone With A Great Layout and Design Cons: N/A
When I signed up for T- Mobile, I got a Motorola V180 because at the time, I thought it was a good phone but I was wrong. It turned out that Motorla was recalling certain models of phones for various different reasons. So, I redid my contract, got a new ...
Pros: Durable, Stylish, Clear Screen, Great Sound Cons: No Camera, Girly Design, Ok Reception
I initially bought this phone because of its styling. I loved the blue and silver contrast. Prior to this phone I had another Samsung, which was incredibly durable and had excellent sound and screen quality. This phone defiantly surpasses it. The sound ...
I wanted a phone that was easy to use with just the necessary features. This phone was it. Easy to navigate, never missed a word, and not to mention it's a tough little phone. This thing has fallen and been dropped so many times you would think that it's a gonner, but no! Aside from some normal scratches it performs the same as it did right out of the box. My husband has gone trough two phones while I'm still on this one. It's the best one I've ever had.
Pros: Very simple to use, great battery life, very durable, comes with ear wired ear piece. Cons: no camera phone or bells and whistles. Very basic other than color screen.
The phone has withstood 20+ plus drops on multiple surfaces and still works flawlessly! Battery holds charge after 1 year!
Pros: Long battery life. Cons: The reception is not to good.
To start the reception is not very good. I have had a lot better cell phones and this is probably due to the reason it does not have a antenna. If you go a little outside of a City you will drop your call. The buttons are hard to use, not sure if it is because it is not broke in yet or what. The voice recorder is very helpful. I got about a 3.5 hour talk time out of the battery before it went dead. It does have a lot of options like the voice recorder, instant messenger, alarm clock, but just about all cell phones have these now days. With the reception problem I would not recommend it to any one.
I really love this phone Except. . . by moneca ,Oct 01 '05
Pros: Small, stylish, vibrant color display, AWESOME RECEPTION, external display, "voice" keypad sound (makes it unique) Cons: 1. The spontaneous freezing
2. Delayed reaction to pressing the keys
I have used a nokia, motorola, and an earlier model samsung. I love the Samsung x475!!!!!!. I always have awesome reception, never less than 4 bars. I have never experienced reception like that before. I've had this phone since June and I have only one complaint. Lately, within the past 3 weeks, it will freeze up completely for no reason. I just woke up one day and after turning it one NONE of the keys would work. This is super annoying. If, for instance, the menu soft key finally goes through it will let me get only so far and freeze up again. I can't even answer the phone if it is already open. The longest that it did this was for 12 hrs. Removal of the battery and the SIM card offers no remedy at all. . .but I love the phone so much that I'll just have to live with it, especially since I got the phone for free through an online t-mobile promotion. I suppose the phone they sent me is just defected so I still highly recommend it.
Pros: Looks cool, reasonable price. Cons: Too small; bad voice reception, ringer volume too low and hard to change
I bought this phone online without seeing one in person. It was much smaller then I expected. If you are looking for a compact phone, then maybe this is for you. I find it cumbersome to open and the keypad hard to use.
Additionally, I cannot adjust the ringer on the phone easily. I hardly ever hear the phone ring if it is in my pocket or purse.
I really should not complain, given that I got this phone free with a one year service contract with T-Mobile. But I think I will get a different phone with better voice quality and ease of use when my contract is up.
I have accidentally dropped this phone a couple of times on pavement and it survived. So that's a plus!
Looks good, Sounds terrible by darraghgrace ,Sep 13 '05
Pros: It looks good (yahoo...) Cons: Bad reception and VERY poor sound quality
Reception is just awful and when I do get reception, the sound quality (even with five bars) stinks. I'm constantly repeating myself and asking callers to do the same--horrible. Turning up the volume doesn't help. I just here the same muffled voices on the other end, only louder.
By the way, I live in the heart of L.A. County, so you can't blame geography.
Callers also tell me they can hear a lot of background noise. My former phone was an LG (wish I still had it) and that phone eliminated everything but my voice. I don't know what the problem is with this phone, but it's so bad, my cell service is useless until I replace it ... ugh!
Pros: It was free...that's all. Cons: Horrible sound quality and reception. Lots of dropped calls.
Once again I learn you get what you pay for. I now have to buy an additional phone so I can utilize my service agreement. This phone is very unreliable.
Not bad, but not the best by katehall72 ,Dec 21 '05
Pros: See above Cons: See above
I have to say that this is the first cell phone I've ever owned (welcome to the 21st century, I know), and I give it a rating of "7" on a scale of 1 to 10 (10 being the best). I consider it to be quite durable - I have dropped it a couple of times with no resulting damage, it has a sleek design, the picture is quite good, and it's compact enough to put in your pocket. The drawbacks are as follows: It freezes on occasion (especially when you try to access "T Zones")and you can't really do anything about it....won't even shut off. Sometimes there is a delayed reaction when punching the keys. But my biggest complaint is the reception/dropped calls. Unfortunately, I don't live in the best area for T mobile service...found this out AFTER I signed the one year agreement - didn't want to pay a penalty. I have great reception in certain areas while driving/visiting other areas of the state (MA), but not in my own house/area. Other than that, it's a pretty decent basic phone (no camera or fancy doodads) which is what I wanted.
