Yes, we've all heard it. "Why so serious?", a famous Joker line from the widely known Batman movie: The Dark Knight.
The movie is an estimated three hours long. I liked it, because the entire movie you're wondering if it's going to end, as if 'taunting' you, much like the Joker taunts the city of Gotham without obeying the laws.
The way the movie ends seemed to quick, but knowing how much money they made off this movie, and seeing the way it ended, I bet my bottom dollar there will be a sequel.
Still a fantastic movie, not for kids who like super hero movies. This one's much more real than Superman.

This has to be one of the most overrated movies in recent memory. Aside from Ledger's performance, it was at best average. Most often, I found it dull and tedious. I know I'm in the minority here and, given its critical and box office success, I stand nearly alone in this opinions. Still, I've got to say I found Dark Knight extremely dull, the editing careless, the character development shallow (with the possible exception of the Joker) and the writing poor.

Pros: All the Actors did a Phenomenal job and it had a good plot and atmosphere.

Not being a previous fan of any of the other Batman films or any other superhero film. I was skeptical at first but The Dark Knight is sure not to Disappoint ,It In fact it lived up to the hype. Heath Ledger was Excellent as the joker and really set the mood for this film. Heath Ledgers Acting was truly ammazing he really captured what "the Joker" was all about. This movie really took batman to a new level, the score for the movie was great and also helped to set the dark and fiendish atmosphere of this movie. Aaron Ekhart also did a good job as Harvey Dent showing what the loss of some one can do and turn you into a monster. Overal i would have to say this movie I great and if you havnt seen it already i recommend that you see it on the big screen becuase it is worth it.

This movie was at least "awesome". I believe that in a way it best resembled what The Bat Man has to offer. The script, cast, plot, and scenery were all well thought out as you can see from this movie. Ledger stole the show no doubt. With his awesome performance who could have asked for a better joker. If you have ever searched/watched some of the bloopers of this movie which are out there if you look. You will see that compared to some of the ways this movie could of turned out, they shot some good shots and the cast did great work.

Pros: Simply the best hero film to date.

Now here is a modern Batman. This film could almost pass along the lines of Heat as it seems more like a modern crime drama than a traditional Super Hero film. Performances run from amazing to fantastic and the quality in every scene simply oozes out. there were a few scenes that truly brought out the dark character of Batman in a way that no other film about him has attempted to before and that made him seem more like a dark knight than previous attempts did. While it cries for older viewers to pay attention, it should be noted that younger watchers may be frightened by some content and performances.

There have been some reviews that point to a longer running time as a negative and with some films that may be true, but The Dark Knight actually benefits from the extra time and makes the most of it in order to bring you one of the best dramas of the past 5 years.

Over all, I would recommend this film to anyone who has wished for a realistic hero film and never got the reward before.

This is a tough film.One of the best superhero films.Nolan, with this masterpiece, has made a film so awesome that it deserves to have a graphic novel series based on the film. Nolan’s skill with his craft is evident in the scenes with emotions and intensity as well. The ferry sequences built up tension with so much strength that the movie stepped out beyond the scope of a summer blockbuster. The characters are forced to question their ethics and convictions – good or evil.

Pros: Everything. Destined to become a classic.

Since there are many other well written reviews about this movie that give it the same praise I want to, I'll make this an express review. I could go on for more than a few paragraphs about what makes this movie so great, but I would basically be writing the same thing most of the other five star reviews have said. I just felt compelled to write quickly about it since the movie just blew me away. It has everything: great direction, great action, great acting, great writing, great story. As you have for sure heard, Heath Ledger's final performance as the joker is absolutely magnificent and should definitely win him an Oscar. Every time he is on screen is pure magic. Other characters are also very well played but like others have said, Ledger simply BECOMES the joker and steals the show. The story and writing completes it all by bringing in deep and complex themes. On top of everything, there is excellent cinematography. The two hours and thirty minutes of the movie was all filled with great content. Nothing should have been cut. The hype is REAL. This wonderfully dark Batman movie is a must-see.

This is one of the best movies I have ever seen. Christopher Nolan brilliantly potray's the decaying city and the scum associated with it. Both him and Bale excellently potray the conflict within Batman and more importantly, how incorruptible he really is. Aaron Eckhart is great at being Harvey Dent.

Do not walk into the movie expecting it to be as much fun as Iron Man. The movie is intense and rightly so.

In short, this is a movie no one should miss.

Pros: entertaining, well written, follows close enough to the comics (closer than spiderman at least).

It is long, It is dark, and It does seem like it's about to end at least twice... but really all that tells us is not to bring the kids to see it. Which is nothing you shouldn't already know from the trailers and the rating.
The movie was incredible over all! Anyone who says there was not any character development was obviously not paying attention to the movie. Batman, and Harvy Dent's character's are the two most obvious to shut that down.
That said, the performances are amazing, from everyone... but Heath Ledger hands down stole the show. Who ever gets the role for the next movie has some extremely big shoes to fill. Hopefully he can do as good a job as Maggie did.
All in all, it's a great movie!
