How NOT To Drive

You're angry because you didn't get that promotion you thought you deserved. You're mad at your wife or husband because plans were made for the weekend and you wanted quiet time at home. A good friend just called you a moron because your great idea was...

I just wished more people knew the symptoms and did actually pull off the road to calm down. It could save a life or two. Nice job!

7 killed (Reply to this comment)

That's right. This woman was mad at her ex and just had checked herself out of hospital for depression 3 weeks before. They found no drugs or alcohol in her system.

She went the wrong way down a major highway for 2 miles till she found unfortunate victims killing the 3 in the other car and her two children and their 2 cousins in her car. She and another survived.

Is that crazy or what? This happen down by Indy.

There is nothing more scary than a red-faced, irate driver. They hold your life in their hands and don't even realize it. I hope people will heed your advice. Thanks for a great review.

You must have seen me on the road (Reply to this comment)

I have been guilty of this many times. It reminds me of that movie Groundhog Day when Bill Murray said "Don't drive angry!" It's something that I struggle with, having a bit of a short temper.
Thank you so very much for all your kind comments on my opinions, and you honor me with your trust.
Yours,
Steve

Some people DO get really nasty!! (Reply to this comment)

An example of road rage I have to show you..Some guy in my town chased down a lady, stopped her car, grabbed her little dog out of the car and threw it into the oncoming traffic..the poor doggy did not survive...and it's a horrifying true story.

I am so glad you wrote about this problem.
And very well too. I always tell my son, if you find your foot getting heavy on the pedal, pull down the visor and take a quick peek at that picture of your family. I cannot understand the mind of a driver who has no concern or regard for another human being. Thanks for sharing :>)

It's easy to be sucked into "traffic competition." Lately, I've been trying to take the attitude that we are all just trying to get someplace.

Thanks for bringing this up and hopefully it will touch every live that reads it. I see a lot of road rage on a daily basis and I totally agree PULL OVER and take deep breaths. Everyone has a bad day every once in awhile but don't take it out on innocent people.

Words to LIVE By! (Reply to this comment)

Thank you for bringing up this subject. It cannot be addressed enough, in my opinion. Stress is not a good enough excuse to me. Everyone has bad days, but not everyone jumps behind the wheel of their car and takes it out on their fellow drivers. Some people (like me) find that driving along in their cars listening to relaxing music is a good way to get RID of stress! I think that if the only way a person can find to relieve their anger and/or stress is to take it out on innocent strangers, it is indicative of a much deeper problem.

of teaching a 16 year old to drive. It makes me sick that the most important lesson these days seems to be, "Whatever you do, don't p*ss anybody off!"

Thanks for taking the time to leave me a comment. This writing came about after an accident I was witness to a few days ago. I heard the driver yell out that he had a bad day at work and wasn't thinking while driving.

I'm glad you chose to address this issue. Road rage incidents are a growing pattern and concern in America. I enjoyed your words, and your editorial will serve to help people. Who knows, you may be saving lives here! Great job!
