I presume you shop on the Internet for books for two major reasons: price and selection. Guess what? There is a search engine that lists all of the retailers who carry the book you want and what their prices are INCLUDING shipping. The site is www.bestbookbuys.com.
For someone who is looking for a discount or for a hard-to-find title, bestbookbuys is a godsend. This site also seems to be "nonpartisan"...they list all the big guns (Amazon, borders, b&n) and a dozen or so smaller, niche booksellers and rank them simply by price. Of course, shipping charges can be pretty steep, so bestbookbuys ranks the booksellers by total shipped cost.
Stop wasting your time hopping from site to site looking for the best price: bestbookbuys does all the legwork.
What's also nice about bestbookbuys is the DEPTH of titles indexed in their search engine. They even cover out-of-print books, used books and old edition textbooks. They don't simply list only the popular titles.
I almost guarantee that once you've tried bestbookbuys, you'll be hooked! You can search by title, author or even ISBN.
Otherwise, when it comes to BOOKSTORES, not search engines, I like bookpool.com for computer and technical books. Their prices are rock bottom and their service is generally expedient. For everything else, I like to use half.com. Half.com is a C2C (consumer-to-consumer) site where you can find used books that other individuals would like to sell. Half.com is like an online flea market/bazaar. And since the books are typically used, the prices on half.com are excellent. If I can't find what I want on these two sites, I fall back on amazon.com. Amazon has everything, inspires complete online confidence and I have never had a problem with them in my 2+ years as a customer.
