A few months ago Best Buy had a 4 of July special where you buy one Intel PC camera and get one free(after rebate). So I purchase the two cameras and sent in the rebate papers. I bought the two USB Cameras and kept one for myself and sent one to my fiance(now my ex fiance).
The camera was very easy to install. Just follow the directions on the camera provides. I think I had to install the software first then hook up the camera. My computer had no problems recognizes the camera.
The camera comes with a create & share cd so that if your friend's don't have the camera then you can send this software to them so they can view you. I have never used the cd but unless it has a feature where you can send over the net I would recommend having someone burn you a copy of this cd to send to your friends and you keep the orginal.
Before I purchased this camera me and my dad did some research on other PC Cameras. Not all had the features or capabilities of this one. My best friend even purchased a Logiquick Camera and it was horrible. She ended up purchasing the same one as me. My dad even got one of these cameras, but he got his free from Popular Mechanics.
This was great for me to use so that my fiance could see me. Although he was too lazy & cheap to go buy a USB adapter so I could see him. My best firend's HP compter doesn't have a USB port so she bought an adapter for her parellel port and it still works great. She uses it to take pictures of her baby girl to send to her relatives in California.
So overall this is a really great camera. It can be mounted to the top o fyour computer(it has a base with a strong tape on it). I prefer to just sit it on top of my computer monitor and not stick it down so that I can be moved around easy. It has a sivel base and I think it even comes off its base.
Easy to use, easy to install around I paid around $80 for my camera. Now I wish my ex fiance hasn't ran off with his camera cause I really like these.
