This is one of the best Super Socket-7 motherboards on the market, unfortunately, Socket-7 has reached its end. It has all the features of a modern board, jumper-less bios, thermal sensors, agp, udma66, usb, etc. Like my Asus P5A, I did not have any significant stability issues. It was fairly solid running hours upon hours of Quake 3 Arena and Unreal Tournament. You will probably find that the MVP3 based board are a little cheaper because Taiwanese board manufacturers have always preferred using VIA chipsets rather than ALi chipsets.
I do not see a major problem with either chipset though (latest revisions). The board ran fine using various video cards which is where I find the majority of my problems these days. I tested it with a Voodoo3 and a Guillemont GeForce2 without any hiccups.
The only major gripe I have with this board is that it is obsolete. An AMD Duron 600 system which is a lot more powerful (not to mention that it has an upgrade path with the future release of new Socket-A chipsets, 760(MP), KT266, Magik 1) will cost roughly the same price as a K6-2 533 system. Most applications will run fine on a K6-2 system, but I always try to get the most for my money. Who knows, a new application might come out that will force you to upgrade anyway (ex. MPEG-4, any new M$ products ;). If you absolutely want a Socket-7 board, then this is an excellent choice.
