Gateway GP6-350, sometimes a dog!

About a year ago I ordered and received this model with a Pentium II inside. I was hoping for more speed. I stepped up from an Aptiva that was awful. Gateway has good value and reputation. The set-up was easy and well explained. The hardware and software all worked fine. However, I do not get the speed from internet downloading I had hoped for and photograph handling is not as quick as I expected either.
The system crashes too easy when you ask it to do too many tasks too fast. The faxing program it came with was not a jewel. The sound system was OK but I have upgraded to Labtec. The mouse was OK but I have upgraded to Fellowes-both with good results.
The monitor is the best part of the system. It is an EV700. That is a great product which has performed well. The keyboard is adequate and so far has held up well. I lost my solitaire game early on-just vanished??
I bumped the CD hard with my knee when I left the slide open and it was ruined. Be careful folks with those. Oh well. Gateway is probably still a good buy but maybe their newer models will get better. Good luck with your computer purchase. See you on down the line.
