| ldwalker59's Full Review: Creative Sound Blaster AWE64 Value |
Introduction
You want that clear, crisp sound that your CD Stereo in your living room produces to be imitated by your computer don't you? As I enjoy doing this and informing everyone of all the beneficial computer products that are out there. I would like to introduce to you the Soundblaster AWE 64. I know that it is an older card, but it can still meet the majority of today's computer user's needs.
Technical Info
The AWE 64 is an ISA card as stated in one of the other epinions, and that means you can't use those smaller more compact PCI slots which are more common on the brand new boards these days. You can still usually order your board with the specification of having a combo of PCI slots and ISA slots though. Let me just get back to where the 64 comes in. It is 64 bit sound which is better than most of those game consoles out there, and the music that an mp3 makes sounds almost as clear from this card as it does from any of the other sound cards I have heard.
Other Components Recommended
I would recommend the Asus board that matches your processor, but then again I am biased towards Asus and most any of todays boards will do. I am also fond of the Koss speaker line as mentioned in my Soundblaster Live! Value review.
Conclusion
To bring it all together although the card is older technology, it is still one of the best out there for its price. It has dropped from the time I purchased my first one.
