This little lesser-used program that is pre-loaded with Windows may be well worth the couple of megabytes it takes up. could you imagine that this little program could be used to develop a whole complex website? Of course it can, because it has the awesome ability to save files under any extension, such as filename.html . And though you can't see how the website looks, anyone who codes in HTML already can picture it in his head. Notepad is just a fast little program to jot code down on.
Not only is it good for website creation, but if you need to type up little notes or reminders, Notepad is used for that too. Sure, you can't do complex things like add clipart, photos, charts, graphs, etc. But it is useful for all the little fast tasks you may have. It's not a memory hog, so it pops up on the screen right away, which is pretty useful for older machines. Overall, if you want a non-memory-hogging program for simple tasks, MS Notepad is for you.
