Pros: you can check as long as you have internet connection Cons: same as email with extra steps
The strangest part about quickdot is that it works. For some reason people respond better (at least my friends) to this simple program than to email itself! Very strange, and yes it could just be my strange friends but I think that this aspect alone...

Pros: Anonymity Cons: Waste of Time
Surely this will go away soon!
A co-worker recommended QuickDot to me. She said it was better than e-mail. I was game, went to the site and signed right up. I set up my preferences to receive email alerts whenever I had new messages. ...

Pros: There aren't any, trust me. Cons: It's pointless.
A couple months ago a friend of mine sent me an invitation to join a thing called Quickdot. So, I setup an account and...forgot it even existed. That is, until just recently when my friend decided to breathe some life into this thing, and "dot...

Pros: quicker, faster, and easier than email Cons: long loading time
Why is Quickdot is faster and easier than email?
Quickdot is a communication program. Once you are connected, you can access your page and dot your friends, family, co-workers, or anyone else.
Quickdot is divided into 4 categories:...

Pros: It builds up your friendships within a group! Cons: it's NOT FREE!
HI Everyone!
First of all; the reason I'm here is because Quickdot is not going to be free any longer, and I was searching for an alternative on the internet. Also I read pretty much all the opinions and I was surprised there were so many...

Pros: if you like writing your friends lots of little notes, this is the program for you Cons: takes longer than email, you get lots of meaningless dots
Quickdot is a little messenger program that is similar to email. The only real differences are: no spam, no forwards, and you get to write to all of your friends while on one page. (There is a separate box for each friend. There are also other groups,...

Pros: err..reminders list? Cons: hassle, boring, not a lot of people join
I joined quickdot.com over a year ago, and I finally logged in again a few weeks ago because they sent me an e-mail about some updates they were having. Quickdot.com is a service that claims that it is easier and faster than e-mail. I tried it for a...

Pros: slightly quicker than email Cons: Can't tell when your friends are on, annoying little "You've been dotted" messages, same as anything else out there
I'll admit it. I am a member of Quickdot. I have been using Quickdot to talk to my friends whom I would usually be communicating with over email. Yet, despite all of this, I fail to see the actual point of Quickdot.
Quickdot claims...

Pros: Fast and easy alternative to e-mail Cons: Nothing major
I was introduced to Quickdot about a year ago, and I'll admit, my first impression was not a good one. It just seemed so...pointless. With e-mail and Instant Messenger, who needed something like Quickdot...right? Well, I'll be the first to admit that...

Pros: Free Cons: Time waster, does same thing as web-based e-mail but less utilities and takes more time
Okay, let me see if I got this right now. I go to this web site, give a little bit of personal data and I'm given an account. Okay, so far so good. Now, what this account does for me is it:
A) Is accessible from anywhere in the world, as long as I...

Pros: ummmm, it's free? only pro I see.... Cons: slow, a pain in the rear to use
I get an invitation, one day, to sign up for this "great new messaging service".... what the heck, I thought. I'll try it. Now I think, WHY???? Why did I waste my time on this stupid thing??
Convenience. I like that word. It means a...

Pros: Good Concept Cons: Too much work to retrieve small messages
QuickDot is possibly the most pointless program I have run across on the Internet. The concept is a good one, but the practicality of this program completely escapes me.
The concept is simple - set up an account similar to an email account and...

Pros: The program is easy Cons: The response time is not that "quick" sometimes
A friend of mine invited me to join QuickDot. I don't think there was any point for me personally to join this program. It has done nothing for me and my friends.
Yes, the concept is good, especially if you have very little time to talk to...

Pros: reliable "offline" messages. Multiple contacts on one web page. Cons: cumbersome, annoying when used with e-mail notices.
The idea was a good one ...
Set up a web page with a bunch of your friends ...
there's a To: and From: area for you to send and receive messages from each of them ...
Only you and the other person can read what is being...

Pros: Great for short messages Cons: cumbersome for really long messages
QuickDot is an interesting communications service. It isn't email, although you can send messages to friends and family who sign up for the service. It isn't chat, either. It is a browser-based text communications tool for short messages. It doesn't lend...
