Pros: It's FREE Cons: GPF's & being kicked off every 20 or so minutes if you don't visit a sponsor
I have tried several free ISP's and I have to say that NetZero is awful. They load so much content, every time I run it, I have protection faults and the computer needs reset. It screws the whole system up.
You get disconnected every 20 or...

Pros: it's free Cons: conflicts with other programs, busy all the time, hard to use E mail
I was looking into free ISP's for a friend of mine who just got his computer. He wanted something free, and easy to use. You see, he gets frustrated easily with computers as most of us do.
SO, I came across NetZero and thought that it would be a...

Pros: Fast reliable connections Cons: Banner has to be clicked every hour or so
NetZero is probably the only free ISP out there that is fast and reliable. I started using NetZero in 1999 when I didn't want to pay for AOL anymore. I had to get used to the little banner thing but eventually it didn't bother me anymore. It used...

Pros: Free Cons: You get what you pay for
I was extremely excited when I first heard about free ISPs, so I quickly scuttled home and downloaded NetZero. My God, it's terrible. Even though I was a poor college student at the time I decided that I could find a way to pay for my Internet access,...

Pros: Free. Good for occasional users. Cons: No privacy
My experience with Netzero was a rather brief one. I didn't really need it, as I had a fee-based dial up connection at the time (I now have a cable modem), but I like to fool around with things and thought I would see how good a free internet service...

Pros: free, for awhile Cons: frequent popup ads, frequent disconnections, intrusive banner
I've already written this one time and lost it, so here goes again. I tried NetZero for the first time some time last year, when I was looking for a decent free internet service. I'd tried a few others and had gotten fed up with them, so I just settled...

Pros: Price Seems to Impress; however, value = 0 due to unreliable connections Cons: False Advertising -
"Reliable connections" are not reliable at all
My experience with Net Zero has been a disaster. For days I was unable to connect to their servers. ...

Pros: Maybe with this new money- we have less banners Cons: No longer the Defender of Free Internet
All good things must come to an end. In this case, all somewhat decent ideas change. What am I referring to? The new email sent out by Netzero about its policy changes at the beginning of the New Year. It now appears the "champions of free...

Pros: none; dial-up is a thing of the past Cons: Horrible customer service, Slow, It's Dial-Up, Long Connection Wait, random disconnections, occasional pop-ups, incompetent personnel
I am a NetZero Platinum customer, and I have had nothing but complaints. I have only been using this ISP for one month (the free trial month), and if it weren’t free, I wouldn’t pay a penny for it. Their customer service is horrible, and I’m sure I spoke ...

Pros: right price for the service Cons: upgrades, poor connections, upgrades
I don't know if it's growing pains or just problematic software and hardware. Sometimes I can get a great connection quickly, other times it takes multiple attempts and then is a so-so connection or worse.
Upgrades, that's another glitch....

Pros: hispeed is very quick Cons: bad pictures
The high speed NetZero ad was hard to believe, saying that their new high speed online service is up to 5 times faster--using the same regular phone line. Even though I still have one free month of AOL, I wanted to give this hispeed service a try. I...

Pros: Let's see, it's free? Cons: Could not connect much, annoying ad bar, very slow speeds.
I tried netzero, I did not like it from the start. It is such a memory hog. It has an annoying ad bar, and so many pop-ups. I did not have much luck connecting to a number in the same city. It is just too slow for me, and being disconnected so...

Pros: Free Internet Service, Free Email. Cons: Limited Hours per month, Constant banners.
NetZero sounds like a good deal when you see the ads on TV, until you read the fine print and discover that only the first 40 hours are free and then it's $9.95 for the remainder of the month, even if there are only a few days left in the month. There...

Pros: Can't really see any Cons: Most Everything
What can I say, you get more than you pay for, and I don’t mean in the better sense of the term!
Do you really need more problems with your computer?
Let me give you a little advice. You really don’t need this free ISP for a problem. I...

Pros: free service, just as good as paying ISP's Cons: disconnects after 15 minutes of inactivity
NetZero's service has been so good, its a wonder why they don't charge you for their service. This service is 10x better than the old ISP we used, which was bellsouth.net. Each time we tried to connect to Bellsouth, we couldn't get through. And so one...
