Pros: stability, improved interface, increased speed (over ME) Cons: Not fully compatible with Win9x and Win2000, privacy concerns, most necessary upgrades not free
Was waiting for that category to become available. So now, 2 weeks after I happily upgraded to WindowsXP (from WinME), I would like to take a moment and go over the things I encountered during install and use.
Pros: Much more stable than the 9X/ME series. Cons: With its introduction, it begins a new wave computing that may have some privacy concerns.
Microsoft releases a new Operating System. Big deal right? We’ve seen it all before, do more and do it easier. Well, Windows XP promises both and much more! But does it deliver?
Pros: Fairly stable OS, and nice looking desktop environment Cons: Still pricey Not as many features as the professional, but takes up same space
Should I get XP? And if so, which version should I get; this home edition or the professional version? First, let me start off by saying that if you have Windows 98 or 98SE and everything is working fine maybe you should not get Windows XP just yet…...
Pros: Rich vibrant interface; networking is more intuitive; ICS actually works!
Cons: Backwards compatibility even with Windows 2000 software packages cannot be guaranteed.
Authors Note: I decided because of length to split this review into three parts; one covering the software package overall, one detailing the installation process and first impressions, and one detailing my trials and tribulations (there were...

Pros: Ease of use, automatic download features, straight-forward presentation Cons: Every version 1.0 will have bugs and this is no exception
First off, every 1st series version of a new software program or a computer platform will have it's share of bugs and glitches, both known and unknown, expected and unexpected. Windows XP is no exception to this rule. However, so far, the only glitches...
Pros: The support, it comes free with new computers and some neat new features. Cons: Locks up a lot on the internet. Missing defrag in start menu & more...

Pros: nice look and feel, stable, integrated with the Internet Cons: I still don't like the activation concept
I didn’t want to like Windows XP. I was biased against it from the start due to Microsoft’s new software activation system. However, despite myself, I find that I like Windows XP and it has become the primary operating system that I use on my computer....
Pros: Fast ,stability, comapatible with most older apps Cons: 133 mhz/125meg ram-compatible hardware
Windows XP Is HERE FINALLY
As a upgrade to Windows 2000 PRO, this is just a minor upgrade. BUT as a upgrade of the win9x ,it is as important as the upgrade from Windows 3.x to Windows 95 When the NT operating system came out , because...
"Before Windows 95, I was a DOS based user. Since then, I have "upgraded" and experimented with every Windows release. The anticipated release of XP, sure looked upgraded, but will it really match peoples...

Pros: Looks great, easy to use once you get the hang of it. Cons: Takes a little getting used to.
Beta
I've been a beta tester for Microsoft's Windows XP operating system since this past summer. That was for the Profession version of Windows XP, but they are pretty much the same with the Home Edition being a little more simplified,...
Pros:Stable, boots quickly, improved user interface, handy applications Cons: Some peripherals may not be supported yet
I've bought a few computers in my days, and I have a pretty good idea of what to expect from a new operating system. When I bought a new computer with Windows XP I expected compatibility problems, and endless minor glitches that would need to be...
