I bought this laptop refurbished, but it certainly doesn't act as such. This notebook came with windows ME, however, I reformatted it to run both windows XP Pro and Windows ME simultaneously. The overall physical appeal is great, and the notebook is built to last.
The DVD software that came with this notebook is excellent, second only to programs such as PowerDVD and WinDVD. Playback is excellent and the screen displays movies perfectly.
The keyboard/mouse is sturdy, I've had this notebook for over 2 years and have not had a single problem with either. The mouse lock feature for the trackpad is handy for when you're typing documents and need to make sure the mouse doesn't wander and cause you to type in another spot.
The built in usb ports, infrared ports, printer port, serial port, and, yes, even a composite TV-out port (love it!) are conveniently placed so they won't interfere with each other. I play with absolutely EVERY feature on my devices, so I've used all of these without a problem.
The only negative thing I could find on this laptop is the battery's fragility. If you leave it plugged in and forget that the battery is in, it gets overcharged beyond repair and the only solution is to buy a new one ($150-200). Be careful with the battery over all else.
