Pros: Winfax 10.00 has been a great program for me.
Cons: Tech support 30.00 per incident, Knowledge base so large difficult finding answers.
The Bottom Line: Don't Buy it if you have 10.00 and it works.

| zion6's Full Review: Symantec WinFax Pro 10.02 For PC |
Supports XP is a misnomer. After getting a corrupted backup from 10.00 before upgrading (which "happens" I was told) and realizing that I lost all my fax data for last 6 months,I had the same issues when installing 10.02 that I had in 10.00, wound up being a problem with XP "East Asian" language from SP1 of XP and Winfax!!
This problem was immediatley known by tech support (I didn't have to pay).
Then I wasn't able to simply fax text or photos without fully opening prgram, as opposed to just hitting Winfax as the printer. Then it started answering on phone without being turned on at all-I had to open program on XP startup and then close it again every day to make it stop.
Then it wouldn't dial a "1" any more from out of area code phonebook entries.
After calling and getting the East Asian language fix-which has to do with XP SP1 (you will never find doc to fix on your own, as keywords are "Errors after installing SP1-which is PART of XP) I was told to get help for the dialing 1 first problem would be fee based $30.00!!! Couldn't even give a keyword to me.
I was told by Tech Support that I was just lucky 10.00 worked in XP.
Solution: Completely removed Winfax 10.02 (following full manual uninstall instructions from support page) and re-installed 10.00. Works fine and my "luck" seems to be holding. I think Symantec wanted us to all BUY a small update and they are OUT OF LINE! Not to mention $30.00 tech support AND a database so huge, if you don't know exact keywords you will spend hours and hours trying to get it right. Tech support also told me it was probably a corrupted XP user log (quite common with XP users I was told)-of course it was an XP problem-my opinion is that an application should work within the OPERATING system, not the reverse!
Symantec makes some great stuff-just hope you get "lucky" like I did. Noticing now there is a 10.03!!
