| wifeofvolsfan's Full Review: HoMedics EnviraScape Rock Garden Fountain |
This year I decide to help my husband out with my Christmas shopping. He works so much that he didnt have a lot of time to get out and do shopping. So I made it easy and picked out most of my gifts myself. I was finishing up my Christmas shopping for others at Kohls when I spotted the Homedics EnvirScape Rock Garden Fountain. I thought it was so pretty. I have always been fascinated with fountains. It was on sale for $19.99 so I decided this would be mine.
I kept waiting for my husband to put it together for me, but he was always busy with something else. So when my stepdaughter was over hanging out with me I decided to try and put it together. Mechanically, I am terrible at putting things together. Im lucky to get the batteries in something. Thankfully, my stepdaughter, Tiffany, is better at putting things together. I knew with her helping that we could get it done. It turns out that she did the whole thing, except I got to do the fun part, which was adding the rocks.
What is included & assembly information:
The kit comes with the following: top slate with 4 additional slates, slate holder, waterproof light (12 VoltA/C 1.8 WATT), base, pump, adapter, and stones. The base and the slates are all plastic. The rocks are real river rocks. There are a variety of colors and sizes. They give you 2 big bags of rocks, which is plenty to add to the base as well as the slates.
It has step by step instructions for assembly and use. All of the parts are lettered A-G to help you to identify them. There are pictures showing the letters. There are 10 steps to getting it together and working. The steps include pictures for along the way to guide you.
Overall, it was pretty easy for Tiffany to figure out. If you are not mechanically inclined at all I would not suggest trying to get it all together by yourself. I would not have been able to do it without Tiffany here.

Keep cord away from heated surfaces.

Indoor use only.
There are more warnings and dangers, but these were the most important. If you get the fountain it will come with a complete list in the instruction manual.
Maintenance & Cleaning:
When you want to clean it be sure and unplug it first. You can use a small brush or a stream of water to remove any dirt in the line.
Change the water periodically to keep it clean.
If you have hard water deposits on the base or rocks soak in a mixture of vinegar and water.
Add water periodically to avoid shortening the life of your pump.
Problems you may have:
If the pump doesnt operate check the circuit breaker, or try a new outlet. Check the pump discharge and tubing for kinks. Make sure the rotor isnt broken or jammed.
If the pump gurgles, spews, or burps check the water level.
If the water splashes re-arrange the rocks so that it doesnt splash.
Tips for noise level and performance level of the pump:
Refill the fountain daily. Every day up to 30% of the water will evaporate. If it isnt filled up daily the pump will be noisier and break down sooner.
Clean the fountain and exchange the water weekly. This will reduce the dirt and buildup. This affects how long the pump will last.
One Year Limited Warranty:
The product is guaranteed free from defects in material and workmanship for one year. It doesn't cover damage from misuse or abuse. There are some other exclusions which are stated in your instruction manual. To get the warranty service you must mail a copy of your dated sales receipt and a $5 check or money order to cover handling.

The Finished Product:
I have the Homedics Illuminated Tabletop Relaxation Fountain sitting on one of my end tables. The fountain is 7 1/2 inches in height and 10 1/2 inches in width. It sits nicely on my end table with plenty of room.
It has a soft light that is really pretty. The water flows out through the slates and over the rocks. I love to sit and watch it. It makes you feel relaxed. Its really nice to have it on at night when the light shows up more.
There are 4 water-flow speeds. You can make the water come out very fast to slow. I have mine set on the medium setting. There is a + and sign to increase or decrease the flow. It is a little hard to change while the slates are in place. You must have small hands to fit in the hole. I dont like the really fast setting as much because it doesnt seem as real to me. It isnt as relaxing. It makes me feel rushed.
It is a nice addition to my Living Room and I am really enjoying having it. Let the Homedics Illuminated Tabletop Relaxation EnviraScape Rock Garden Fountain soothe and relax you from a long, hard day.
