Great people, horrible coverage, greed over features

Cons: Poor coverage, crippled phones.
The Bottom Line: If you can suffer with the poor coverage, and just want a basic phone, use them.

I find the people at Verizon to a joy to work with. However their system is so pathetic that I will be forced to switch to a new provider as soon as my commitment expires.
I have had up to a dozen phones with Verizon all the way back to the "Airtouch" days (When PCS first started).
The coverage in the Seattle area has always been spotty, but with the resources they had I expected that over time they would fill in the holes. Nope.
Sammamish, Maple Valley, Bothell, even parts of downtown seattle, I can find myself in roam, or out of service, when anyone with me on another system has full coverage.
The "Can you hear me now" guy makes me laugh because the person on the other end has been gone for 10 minutes and he has no idea he has been cut off.
They always blame my phone so over the years I have been fortunate enough to always have something new, on their nickel, but alas it never solves the problem.
Sadly they use CDMA which means you are using phones which are not compatable with other providers. They also have versions of the phones made that cripple features you want. For instance they had Motorola make them a T 720 that can't use the MP3 player or Camera because they didn't want you to have those features. They disabled the ability to load your own ringtones or wallpapers so you are forced to pay for their "Get screwed now" system.
Want the latest in phones? Forget it. Because they use CDMA you have to wait while Motorola and others bring phones out for GSM because that is what all the major providers use. Eventually they will make select phones available for CDMA but by then there is something better you wish you had.
Too bad, if they could just get their service and equipment up to the standards set with their online site and customer service i'd love to stay.
