Pros: Potential for good photographic reproduction.
Cons: Very unreliable and frustrating.
The Bottom Line: Better off with a higher end photo inkjet printer.

| jamofa56's Full Review: Alps MD-5000P Printer |
Purchased for printing photographs. Had to send the first machine back soon have arrival due to annoying horizontal lines in image. Ordered the Dye Sublimation Add-On expecting the advertised results. Customer Service was not exactly helpful, blamed my problem on improper mixture of media and ribbon. This was not true because with the cost of this printer I was quite detailed every step of the process.Ribbon Jams and Breaks led to my allowing it to sit on the shelf and collect dust. The printer is extremely tempermental. Output can be unpredictable. I now use a photo capable InkJet with photo ink with much success. Wish I would have invested the money in the purchase of high end photo Inkjet printer. Cost of ribbons and papers are another issue along with print speed. Looking for someplace to unload this "attractive nuisance".
