| protonsmom's Full Review: Dyson DC07 steel / yellow Upright Vacuum |
I have had this vaccuum about a month now so I have put it through it's tests here at home.
I burn out a vac about every 2 years because I have 7 (yes SEVEN) indoor housecats. I also have allergies (go figure) so I use the vac a lot. So I just assume every 2 years I get to invest $200-300 in a new hepa filter vac. Sears sees me coming.
This time around I got talked into spending more money and buying the Dyson. I also upgraded the warranty through Sears so if anything happens to it in the next 5 years it is covered. So, paid a bit more but I plan on at least twice the lifespan.
This vac has picked up dirt I did not even know I had. The first day I used it I filled the container 3 times in my 1700 square foot house. My white carpets are white again. I had two rugs I was actually thinking about getting rid of but not now that I have the Dyson because they look like new! It has an amazing ammount of power. Furballs dance around it and get sucked in from over a foot away when you are using it on a hard floor. It really is amazing.
I used the attachments to get the fur off my upholstered furniture and it comes off with ease. No more masking tape rollers! The attachments are on the handle of the vac and easy to get to. You just push a button and the handle turns into your attachment arm and away you go. The vac does not spin it's rollers while the arm is in use like some other models of vaccuum so you don't have to worry about it burning your carpet.
To clean out the unit is a breeze. All you have to do is detach the main tank with one button push, hold it over a trash can and pull the trigger. The bottom pops open and out goes the fuzz into the trash bin. Snap the bottom closed and you are ready to rock and roll.
My only complaint is that when it does get something in it that clogs up the roller it makes a horrible ratcheting sound that scared me to death. The roller is easy to pop out and clear the obstruction but the initial warning sound is very LOUD!
This unit has a sealed motor and a lifetime belt so I am planning on keeping much longer than my 2 year average. Thank you Dyson, I can breathe again!
