I Won't Trade Trader Joes!

The Bottom Line This place has the best for less!
Trader Joe I adore you. When I was much younger there was a store called Passport Foods. I adored the gourmet treats and samples they would foist on the consumer around every turn. Cheeses, Spritzers, gourmet crackers would be offered around every turn. Needless to say it went out of business and I mourned the loss. I actually wore a black armband in front of the shop and cried, banging on the front door but alas they had no pity on me and locked up shop and left town.
Trader Joes is the next best thing. I got a notice in my mail that a new gourmet shop was opening and was giving away a free tub of chocolate jelly rings. Oh my how I adore these things and it did not take much to lure me in like a fish. Chocolate- did someone utter Chocolate the food of the gods. Indeed they gave me a free tub of the chocolate nirvana and got me hooked into returning several times.
Trader Joes is a unique store. It handles mostly gourmet treats that are packaged under there own generic label. To quote here” frankly scarlet I don’t give a damn” The quality of the generic labeled goods in this shop is outrageous. The prices are phenomenal as well. I got extra virgin olive oil for 2.49. This is the same size bottle that the supermarket sells for 6.99. The contents and quality are superior. The olive oils are dark, fruity and great for salads. People will tell you that as far as extra virgin goes they really don’t care what the sheep do at night they want cheap. Trader Joes gives you the better quality for less.
Besides the olive oil I have found their baking quality goods phenomenal. Everything from the raw nuts, chocolate chips, vanilla and everything in between is priced much lower than the other gourmet shops and in many cases your local supermarket. Trader Joes also has fresh baked goods like rolls and muffins, organic produce, meats and smoked fish.
For people who only buy organic there is plenty to fill your chopping cart. Everything from yogurts, organic eggs, cereals to coffee from Jamaica fill the aisles.
They have a frozen foods aisle with gourmet treats like Key Lime Cheesecake for 3.49. Where in the world can you find prices like that? Frozen shrimp, potpies, and other main meal delights can be found in the shop.
The sales help is wonderful too. At my local Trader Joes they actually unpack your grocery cart for you. I tried to do it the first time and they told me no they would do it for me. I was in a state of shock. What’s this I gasped in dismay? Salespeople going out of there were to help? Totally floored I returned to this shop for more treats.
Do you want to sample something before you buy it? They have tables set up where they let the consumer try assorted goodies before purchase. Today’s choices were sorbets from France, cheeses or salad dressing with a mixed salad and croutons. I love this place.
Trader Joes is open every day from 9am to 9pm. They are located in almost every state. To find a location near you only involves a simple toll free call. Dial 1-800-746-7857.
Are you still reading this? What is the matter with you. Get on your huaraches and move into high gear. Trader Joes awaits you.
