Pros: battery operated so needs no outlet; portable; adjustable fragrance control
Cons: pricy (get it on sale), only three scents available
The Bottom Line: I guess you could say it was the smell and the battery operation that sold me on this. I recommend this, especially if you have limited outlets in your home.

| cubmomma's Full Review: Glade Wisp Air Freshener All Scents |
One thing I love about our local Costco, are the sample tables set up throughout the entire warehouse. Usually, they give away food, but in this particular case, they gave away a sniff of this new product. Its Glades Wisp Home Fragrancer. After sniffing, was I impressed? Yes! Did I buy the package? No. Let me explain. I have a SMALL house, and this Costco package had two base units and 4 refills. Too much for my house, but I kept it in the back of my mind. Lets move forward to the very next day.
~~ THE PRODUCT ~~
Now I know what you may be thinking, here is yet another home fragrancer. I know, because thats what I thought. But, when I went to our local Vons the day after visiting Costco, I found this fragrancer in the single pack (more my size) and remembered the wonderful smell from Costco from the day before. I went ahead and picked up a starter kit, which includes one battery powered base unit, a battery, and one little vile of scented oil. The scent I chose was Hawaiian Breeze.
~~ HOW IT WORKS ~~
I do NOT have a lot of outlets in this 60 something year old house. They outlets I have are all in use. So, this caught my attention because it does not need an outlet in order to work, it uses a battery. This makes it very portable, I can move it to any room I want. It also does not give constant fragrance, if you dont want it to. You have control. It has a microchip that times the puffs, and releases a little bit of oil at a time.
When I brought home my nifty little treasure, I opened the plastic-domed package, and out came my oversized egg-shaped fragrancer and little vile of scented oil.
To get it all up and working, you open the bottom of the egg-shaped base. This exposes the battery (not a generic battery, an Energizer), and the little area where the vile of oil belongs. Since the battery is already installed, you simply pull a tab to activate the battery, and after removing the lid to the vile of oil, insert it by turning it into place. You close the bottom, and set the unit on a flat service, and set the adjustable lever in the front to how much freshener you think you will need. There are five levels and you can adjust and re-adjust it to your particular level of scent. I keep mine on the first level, so not to be overcome by fragrance. The base unit has a hole on the top, this is where the oil gets puffed out.
Since this is a scented oil, you will want to be careful about getting in near heat or flame, in your eyes, or on your skin. I found I had no problem opening the vile and installing it correctly, there were no spills or problems.
~~ DOES IT LAST? ~~
I have had this for a week, and it is still going strong
but not too strong, just right. I have this in my living room, and every once in a while, Ill get a whiff of the pleasant smell. Obviously, if youre the type that loves lots of fragrance, then you can turn it on up! The package claims that if you set the base at level one (like I have it), it should last about 60 days. If you have it on the highest level 5, it should last about 30 days.
~~ THE SCENTS ~~
This does not come is a large variety of different scents, it only comes in three: Citrus & Herb, Hawaiian Breeze, and Mystical Garden.
Its too bad that at Vons, I could not tell the difference between the scents. There is no scratch & sniff option to see if you would like the smell. If it werent for the free smell of the Hawaiian Breeze scent at Costco, I never would have even given this product a glance
.er, I mean smell.
~~ THE PRICE ~~
The regular price for the starter kit at Vons was $9.79 (YIKES!), but they had it on sale for $6.99. The refills are $3.79, but were also on sale two for $7 (if you figure that the vile of oil is only .26 oz, then you can see that you are spending about $13 per ounce for the oil).
I wanted to give a little tip here. When you buy the base unit, in the package you will get $9 in coupons: three coupons each for $3 off future purchase of a starter kit.
Like I mentioned, at Vons, they had all three scent-options on sale. If you want to have two base units, buy one, and after taking it home, open the package to get one of the $3 coupons, and then on your next trip, buy a second unit and use a coupon, and you could get it for $3.99. Vons has these on sale until the end of the month.
At Costco, the only scent option was Hawaiian Breeze, but you get two base units and 4 refills for $14.99. Pretty good price!

UPDATE!!
OK, I tucked one of my $3 off coupons into my pocket and went back to Von's today. I picked up another starter set for my bedroom. This time, I bought the Citrus & Herb scent. It smells like a sweet-orange scent, it's wonderful! ANYWAY, at check out, I presented my coupon, and since Von's doubles a coupon up to $1, I actually got this for $4.00 off! Because Von's has this on sale right now, plus another $4 off, my price before taxes was $2.99.
Many thanks to Mind-full for getting the link to this new product up and ready.
