Got blisters? Try Band-Aid "Blister Block"

May 24 '01

The Bottom Line "Band-Aid Brand: Blister Block" is a safe and effective product that really does what it says, it helps blisters to heal!

This is really a product recommendation, I couldn't find a listing for this type of product. This category seemed to fit best, so here goes...

Band-Aid Brand cushions for Feet: Blister Block

"Band-Aid Blister Block", according to the packaging, are adhesive cushions the become a second skin that protect from friction to prevent you from getting blisters, and are also used to create an optimal healing environment to help blisters heal.

I work in a garden center and, I recently got a bad blister on my foot, which became 3 blisters on my inside left heel after working in wet socks on a rainy day. I tried bandages and adhesive tape and gauze, but nothing helped. The pain from these blisters was nearly debilitating! I work on my feet all day, and this was not a good thing!

I went into Longs Drug store in search of some relief, and chose the "Blister Block" product, (which I had never heard of) after reading the info on the package.
I thought it was a little pricey, (around $5 for 4 pads) but pain is a great motivator so I decided to check it out.

Following the package directions I washed and dried the area, applied the self-adhesive cushion, and made sure all the edges were adhered smoothly. I then covered the cushion with my hand for one minute to warm it so it seals properly.

It fit over my trio of blisters easily, and when I put my foot in my work boot I was amazed! No pain! It really did become a "second skin", and I was able to work without giving a thought to my foot.

I left the "Blister Block" pad on for a few days as recommended.(It stayed in place even inside my sweaty work boot) The cushion turns white as it absorbs fluid from the healing blister. When I finally peeled it off I was pleasantly surprised to find that the blisters had pretty much healed.

This product was sure a life saver for me and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone who finds themselves with a nasty blister!
