Let me put this bluntly; in my family you are either a breeder or an outcast. Anyone that has had kids has had no less than three of them – yet there’s still two that refuse to get with the program and start pumping out babies [maybe they are the sane ones in the bunch]. My sisters all have an affinity for Snoop, something I was lucky enough to skip over thanks to my dislike of the cartoons I was always forced to watch. Don’t get me wrong, I can handle the whole Peanuts gang but these people are just a bit too extreme for me. I started hitting the Snoopy online store when I ran out of things to buy for them. The site offers gift certificates, which are always a great gift option, but in my case it’s easier for them to make a list of what they want, email it to me, have me make the purchase then send the entire thing to them. This saves a lot on shipping, customs papers and the chance that one of the packages will get delayed or lost. It also gives me the chance to double check the order to make sure everyone is getting what they want and that nothing needs to be returned.
My dislike of the Peanuts family changed when I saw some of the cutest baby items at the site and wanted to spoil my newest niece with some of them. Princess Gwendolyn [yes, they insist on giving kids those old school medieval names] arrived weighing a whopping nine pounds so she was already out of most of the “cute” outfits that everyone gave my sister for her baby shower so Aunt Alex came to the rescue with some basic but adorable sleepers and daily wear. I fell in love with the “Sleepytime Baby Snoopy Bedding Set” and knew that my sister would flip out when she saw it. It was a little pricy [$80.00] but you know, a baby is only a baby once and it’s my belief that there is no possible way to actually spoil a baby.
Selection & Purchases
It might be easier to list the things that I haven’t purchased from the site … yeah, I hit that site hard and when the boxes start arriving – the delivery person is not in the best of moods. In the area of baby items I’ve picked up the very cute and extremely practical “Bottle Bag With Changing Pad” [$14.99], Bowl & Spoon Set [$5.00] and the Baby Snoopy 12 Piece Newborn Set – for $15.99 you get a ton of stuff and they offer it in boys [blue] and girls [pink]. After my sister saw this she told me that she wanted me to order her three or four of each of them so she could have them on hand for baby showers. For that price, I stocked up too! The site sells a good bit of clothing but as I stated at the beginning of the review – I’m not a hard core Snoopy fan so outside of the occasional baseball hat, the clothes aren’t for me. The items that I purchased for my nieces and nephews through the site were all extremely nice; the sleepers were heavy, the two piece sets looked rugged enough to handle whatever they dished out and from what my sisters have said, all the clothing has washed and worn nicely.
When I first hit the site I didn’t expect to find a ton of stuff – some clothes, kids stuff .. the usual. After cruising around it for a long time I think I’ve finally managed to hit all the sections and see what all they offer. And for those curious, all items sold at the site are officially licensed products – no knock offs or “Almost Peanuts” stuff here. SnoopyStore carries items for everyone and their selection includes all the major players – Snoopy [including Joe Cool, Baby Snoopy and The Flying Ace], Charlie Brown, Pig Pen, Sally, Linus, Peppermint Patty, Woodstock… you get the picture. You will be able to find everything from watches and clothing to clocks and stuffed animals, lunch boxes to thermometers, and if you are wondering where I got my cool boxer shorts .. this is the site. The prices aren’t bad either, about what you would pay at a retail store but there is a nice clearance section that you should check out often because you never know what is going to pop up there. One of the best bargains around right now has to be the two piece summer outfits that normally sell at $24.99 – you can get them now for $6.99. Not bad, not bad at all.
Gift Certificates
If you are stuck for the perfect gift why not give a gift certificate? They are available in denominations from $10.00 to $500.00 and are sent via email to both you and the person you are giving it to. The down side to this is twofold; it can only be used online and it is only for purchases made and to shipped within the United States. I really wish they would allow overseas residents to use the gift certificates but I guess there is a lot of credit card fraud to deal with. Even so, giving one of these is pretty simple and you do receive a copy of the transaction once it is processed.
Payment Options
The site accepts MasterCard, Visa, American Express, Novus and The Discover Card. You can also pay for your order with a check or money order however doing this will cause a delay in your order being shipped out. I’ve used both MasterCard and Visa at the site and never had any trouble with processing, authorization or billing. Extremely uneventful purchases – and that’s the way they should be; no surprises, no hidden fees and no errors.

Return Policy
When you shop at the site you are given a 30 day return policy on almost all purchases; items that are excluded include signed movie cells, autographed materials, used clothing [unless defective] and all types of media [audio tapes, video taped, DVD’s etc]. If you ship something back to them please ensure that it is packed properly, if it arrives damaged they will zap you with a 15% restocking fee to cover the damage. It is also wise to have delivery confirmation attached to the package so if there is ever and issue of someone saying “we never got it” you can pull up the information from the tracking number as proof of delivery.
Shipping Fees
They aren’t the best but they aren’t the worst. Since I have all the items shipped in one order and to one address I do save a little money over having them try to send it overseas. The one time that I did call and ask about them shipping the orders directly I got this song and dance about how it isn’t cost effective for them to do so, customs papers … etc. So I gave up on having them do any type of shipping for me and just elect to send it all out to my relatives and let them fight over the box when it arrives. Most orders arrive via FedEx Ground or the USPS and the shipping fees are structured in a rather strange way and almost guaranteed to confuse the first time buyer. You can have your order shipped one of three ways [standard, express or ‘ultra’ express] with a base shipping fee of $4.99 for items under $24.99 and $6.99 for items over $24.99 – forget all that and assume you are going to get charged the higher price no matter what. Each additional item is $2.99 no matter how much you order.
The funniest thing about the shipping policy is this – they offer you express shipping for an addition $9.99 per item and say it will arrive three to five days after the order is placed. For that kind of money, it better be on my doorstep by noon the next day. Also, they say that it is $9.99 per item then say that additional items are $2.99 each – they need to figure out what they want to charge before they list it at the site or tell their customer service people to say on the phones.
The Bottom Line
If you are looking for a well stocked Peanuts site that is easy to navigate, 100% kid friendly, offers you good prices and a wide selection – then SnoopyStore is one that you really need to check out. Even though I am not a huge fan of the cartoon or characters, I can appreciate all that they have to offer for those who are fans and fanatics. I’ve got my eye on a few more things for my nieces and nephews and you can bet cold hard cash on this – my sisters are going to rue the day they ever got their kids into Peanuts. Me? Spoil them rotten? Never ….
