| maggsmomm's Full Review: Evercare Magik 2-Sided Lint Brush |
We have two cats. And three kids, that makes for a lot hair, lint, dust, you name it on my clothes and furniture. I have always used the lint removers that were refillable or disposable that has tape wrapped around on a roll connected to a plastic handle. But when I found the Evercare Magik 2-Sided Brush I had to buy one. No more spending money or refills!
The brush has a hard plastic handle with an arrow showing you which way to use the brush to remove lint & hole so you can hang it up for storage. The other end is an oval shaped, cushion like, 2 sided lint brush made with this red material where the fibers run in a certain direction on each side to remove any type of crud off clothing and furniture.
It works pretty well removing almost all of the cat hair off my sweaters and the arms of the couches. It doesn't work as well as the ones with tape which removes ALL of the cat hair or dust/lint.
I took one to work to use on our felt ring holders & it barely touched the dust whereas the tape sided brushes removed every traces of lint or dust.
I like the brush because over time you save money & I mostly use it for removing cat hair. It removes cat hair very well & any large sized materials (like the dust bunnies we get attaching themselves on the couch). But when you are trying to remove finer pieces of hair, dust, lint, etc., it just doesn't work as well as the taped brushes.
Since I do not need it for that purpose I like the lint brush. I also like that fact I can hang it up in my laundry room and it lays flush with the wall, whereas with a tape remover it wont hand on a small hook because the taped side is round instead of flat.
The biggest drawback I have found is when im in a hurry I pay no attention to the arrows, and end up leaving particles on my sweaters/shirts instead of removing them, thus taking longer to remove what was only a few cat hairs.
The best thing about these brushes is that they are very easy to clean just rub the brush's fibers the opposite direction and it lifts right off.
Its great for use on the furniture, clothes, car, any place that has material that would attract fibers, hair, dust, or lint that cant be easily removed with a vacuum, rag, or other conventional methods.
Ive accumulated a few of these for the car for work, for my clothing, & furniture. They last forever. They can get wet, stepped on, tossed around & it really takes a lot of work to tear these up. However they are not indestructible.
Mine last for a few years then eventually the fabric on the brush starts to pull away from the plastic & it can no longer be used.
All in all when it comes down to choosing this lint brush over the roller tape ones its a matter of what you're using it for and how long you like it to last. Removing dust, such as I mentioned at work, it was neither economical & or a good way of removing fine dust particles, a tape lint brush did a better job. But for all general use I recommend this brush because it works well on upholstery, furniture & to remove hair.
