Pros: Sleek futuristic design, ergonomic flat keyboard, LCD screen
Cons: Software isn't as powerful as it could be, and it has LOTS of bugs.
The Bottom Line: Definitely buy it if you want eye candy. Solid product but not so great support software.

| chui101's Full Review: Logitech diNovo Media (967312) Keyboard |
The keyboard, mediapad, and mouse are very well designed. The keyboard does take a bit getting used to, but if you use a laptop a lot, it's not that much of a stretch. The tactile feedback is the best I have ever felt from a keyboard. I must also commend Logitech on the placement of the media control buttons (silver pad at the bottom right of keyboard and mediapad). They are not in the way, even if you are using the direction buttons, and I don't see any way I would accidentally push any media control buttons under normal use. The LCD screen on the mediapad is absolutely heavenly. The calculator function automatically copies results to the clipboard. This is a mixed blessing, if you have something else in the clipboard, and you stop to use the calculator, well... it's gone. But that doesn't happen often for me.
The software, on the other hand, is less than desirable. It provides enough functions for the average user who uses this to surf and listen to music, but such an expensive keyboard and mouse would surely be also geared towards gamers and power users... but it's not really. The software doesn't give the user much control over the LCD screen, and it only works with a select few media players. I used foobar2000 before, but now I have had to switch to Winamp to use the full functionality of the LCD screen. That is the least of the problem I have with the software, though. I sometimes have an issue with the current application window jumping in and out of focus regularly. Whatever window I am using stays in focus for about 5 seconds, and goes out of focus for about 1 second, and then does the whole thing over again. Also, setup was tough because it needed to install a device driver when I installed the keyboard, and after the reboot when it was detecting the keyboards, the mouse and keyboard would not work, but I needed to use the mouse to click on the device driver install dialog so that the software could detect the mouse. A spare PS/2 mouse solved this problem quickly.
Overall, it's a good product, but it's still an "early-adopter" product. If the software was less buggy I would give it 10 marks if I could.
