This printer is amazing. I own 3 printers and this is by far my favorite. The quality is great.
I use a 4MP Nikon Digital camera, which are where my pictures are taken from. I do use the highest setting to ensure that I am getting the best picture possible. I have the option of connecting my camera directly to the printer, inserting my CF card or printing from my PC. It really does not matter which format I choose, the picture comes out great every single time. I cannot begin to tell you how impressed I was with my first printout.
The printer also has an option for printing directly on CDs or DVD. The correct piece of media is required however. It must have a printable layer on top. I have not used this feature yet due to having 50 CD-Rs, to go through first. I have no doubt that the quality will be amazing.
One thing I really like about this printer is that I am able to print borderless photographs and the edges look just like the rest of the photo. And when I say photo, I mean photo. This does not look like a picture from a printer. The Epson software does allow you to go in and tweek your photo if you need to. I always lighten mine a bit. You can choose paper type, size, borderless, adjust the saturation as well as the hue and adjust the contrast and brightness. Using these features in conjunction with your build-in photo software (Paint, Photo Impression, PhotoShop, etc) you can do just about anything you want with your photos.
I have used both HP and Epson paper. I prefer the Epson because I find the quality to be much better, but they both work well.
The printer is actually pretty quiet. The only time it seems noisy to me is when I first turn it on and it is getting ready for the first print.
In the box: R320 printer, 6 color cartridges, sample printable CD, CD/DVD print tray, set-up instructions, software and manual. You will need to purchase a USB cable.
I also like the small LCD on the top that allows me to view the picture directly from the camera and CF card. This printer is very easy to use.
It was a Christmas gift, so I am unable to tell you what I paid for it. Whatever it was that my husband paid for it, it was well worth it. I like the quality on this more than the Kodak machines at the stores. This is nearly as good if not as good as actual photo development. I am real big into scrapbooking and this has won my heart. No more working with photos for long periods of time to print them on the HP all-in-one.
