Short version: nightmarishly rude customer service and not so functional order status on site. For the specifics read below:
I am extremely disappointed with my first purchase from eCOST.com. I placed on order for a memory foam pad last night around 12:00am. I did not receive a confirmation e-mail nor did the website show the order under the "My Account" feature. I assumed that the order did not go through and placed another order at 10:15 am today. I called the customer service dept. 2 minutes after placing the order to confirm that two orders had not been placed. The representative I called was extremely rude and I was told that both orders that gone through. I asked the representative to cancel one of the orders and was told that the first order that already gone through packaging and the second order was not in the system. The representative asked me to call back in 30 minutes to cancel the order. I asked if he himself could do it since I would not be able to call back and was told that was not possible and I had to call back. I do not understand how the term "customer service" applies to this kind of reply.
I called back a second time 2 hours later and I tried to cancel the order. I spoke to Jason who was much more pleasant to talk to. He told me that the 2nd order had already gone through, but he would try to stop the shipment by writing a message to the appropriate personnel. He told me that the cancellation was "not guaranteed" though. He told me that the 1st representative should not have said I needed to call back in order to cancel the order.
I called back a 3rd time to make sure how the cancellation would go through. I was supposedly talking to a manager this time, who was also very rude. I was trying to explain my situation and he repeatedly cut me off and talked down to me as if I was a child. He told me that the previous representatives had done their job and had made no mistake.
