| mdsconsult's Full Review: Whirlpool GHW9150 Front Load Washer |
Bought a washer dryer pair from Lowes with extended warranty 5 months ago. The washer (GHW9150) went on the fritz last night - stopped spinning and draining. Called whirlpool and was given a service appt the next day... The usual "we'll send someone out between 1p and 5p..." At 4P I get the call to say they won't be here but can we try to waste another one of your afternoons next friday... They use 3rd parties to do their repairs and the excuse from the repair shop was we're too busy and...
No apology from the repair shop...
Response from Lowes - not covered by Lowes since my extended warranty purchased from Lowes did not kick in until the manufacturers warranty is done. And by the way, you can't return it since it's beyond 30 days...
Whirlpool's response - they did call a couple of other repair places who could schedule something in a couple of days, again having to waste yet another afternoon waiting...
The washer was good up until this time...but to have a washer die in 5 months isn't acceptable. I actually bought this because it seemed to have a better repair record than Maytag...so much for that...
