DO YOU KNOW HOW TO MASK?

The Bottom Line Masking makes your images pop-up out of your greeting card!
There is a technique when you make greeting cards with rubber stamps that is called Masking. It is not a new technique but seems to be forgotten by many rubber stampers.
Items that you will need:
card stock
stamp set
ink pads
scissors
temporary tape
plain paper
Here is an example: If you have a log cabin that you just stamped on your card stock and you want to add trees, the sun and maybe some flowers to your greeting card but you want the log cabin to show up in front, you stamp another log cabin on a plain piece of paper and cut it out.
Next you put some temporary tape on your masked piece to work like a post-it note. Put the masked piece of paper over the log cabin that is already stamped on the card stock. Now you can add trees, stamping over part of the mask. When you lift the mask up, you will be amazed as to how the trees look like they are in the background and the cabin is the main focal point.
If you want to add a sun to the sky but you don't want to stamp over any of the tree tops, make a mask of the tree on a piece of paper also. After you do the same procedure with the tree and the sun, you will see that the sun is now the furthest from the front of the card and it will look like the sun is peeking through the trees!
I think that you will enjoy the effect that masking brings to your rubber stamped cards. After a few times, you will probably wonder why you didn't mask a long time ago.
