I was down to my last bag and the Eureka vac’s filter was overdue for changing. A replacement air filter was over 20 dollars at Sears and the replacement filter bags were also priced on the high side. What was a tightwad to do? I searched the vacuum cleaner parts sites I had bookmarked during the past few years. None of them were a slam-dunk, and some were difficult to navigate. I then remembered buying bags for my Sharp upright two or three years ago at a site that was very satisfactory. It didn’t take me long to find the name of the company on a package of bags and renew my acquaintance with the Online Vacshop.com
Online Vacshop
Online Vacshop sells mostly replacement vacuum bags, but also available for purchase are filters, belts, replacement rollers, and even a few models of vacuum cleaners, Sharp brand air cleaners, and some miscellanea. Depending on the item and manufacturer chosen, you may be able to purchase genuine replacement parts by the original manufacturer or a generic of high quality. The only vacuum cleaners I saw listed were a line of Eureka Oxygen Canister models and a Red Devil hand held. There may be others offered that I didn’t see.
On the left hand side of the opening screen is a list of the offerings arranged alphabetically from Advance vacuum bags to Windsor vacuum bags. I clicked on the hot link for Eureka bags. On the new page I saw all of the Eureka model bags available with the suggested retail prices and the Vacshop’s price. Under each pictured bag is a drop down menu listing discounted pricing for increased number of purchases. For example, a package of 3 genuine Eureka bags in style MM has a retail price of $9.99. Vacshop’s price for the identical Eureka bags is $6.44 for one package of three bags. Five packages purchased would cost 5.86 per package, and 10 packages would cost $4.88 each.
A picture accompanies almost every item on the site, though with little descriptive text. Clicking on the picture magnifies and isolates the picture on its own screen. Many photos of the items are large enough and clear enough to enable the shopper to read the text on the packaging.
Most of the popular, well known brands are listed on the site. Among them are: Bissell, Dirt Devil, Electrolux, Eureka, Fantom, Hoover, Kenmore, Kirby, Miele, Oreck, Panasonic, Sharp, Singer, and others.
Some additional brands listed are: Advance, Bosch, Euro-Pro, BE, Nutone, Regina, Royal, Sanyo, Shark, and Windsor.
Shipping
Online Vacshop ships worldwide. The shipping method will be determined at the time the order is packaged and made ready for shipping. Most orders ship within 24 hours of being placed. As items are added to the shopping cart the shipping cost is visible and adjusted according the items in the order. I like that the shipping charges are visible up front not after all the shopper’s personal information is given as in many other sites.
Returns and Cancellations
All orders placed online are considered as processed. When an online order is cancelled, Online Vacshop reserves the right to charge a 9.5% cancellation fee. All returned items to Online Vacshop.com must have a RMA number and be in original packaging. There is a 20% restocking fee for returned merchandise. Personal checks are accepted, but merchandise will not ship until checks have cleared.
My Experience
This was my third purchase from Online Vacshop. Previously I’ve purchased bags for my Sharp upright and my Shopvac Mighty-Mini. Both times I was very satisfied with the prices, shipping speed, and quality of the product. This time I ordered HEPA filters and size RR bags for my year old Eureka SmartVac. My total for bags, filters and shipping came to just over 43 dollars, seven dollars of which was for shipping. Since shipping is free for orders over 50 dollars, I readjusted my order so that it totaled $50.10 with free shipping. The HEPA filters which sell for over 20 dollars at most other retailers cost me $8.86 here, an incredible buy! I ordered generic replacements but did have the option of ordering genuine Eureka products for a slightly higher cost. Tightwad that I am, I ordered generic.
Within minutes of placing my order on a Sunday night I received a confirmation via email. The next morning I received a second email not only informing me that my order had been shipped but also providing a tracking number. On Wednesday of that same week a package of vacuum bags was lying on my front porch. The Dust Vacuum Corp. bags look and feel exactly like the Eurekas. The HEPA filters also look identical to the Eureka brand. It was a little difficult to replace the filter cover on my vacuum after inserting the new filter, so I suspect that the generic is a hair larger than the original, but that is just a minor irritant. Packaged with my filters and bags was a coupon for a free pack of scent tabs with my next order. I am very pleased with my latest experience with Online Vacshop and recommend them without reservation.
