One word "Agonizing"

I didn't think to check out this company before ordering and now I am in the same boat as most. I ordered a product from this business in good faith believing that they were reputable only to find out that all the complaints that I have seen is exactly what has happened to me. Their website is impressive and their prices unbeatable but and I mean a very big but, they charge your credit card and you never hear from them again. This is my story:
On 1/22/2006, Sunday evening I was looking to buy a specific item. Being that I live in Hawaii most everything I need I have to search for on the mainland and have it shipped. I found what I was looking for at Botach Tactical. I promptly ordered it through their on-line system. I received a reply e-mail immediately. I thought great Ill have the item soon. Well think again! I payed for 2nd day air being that I live in Hawaii, needles to say it was expensive. The next day I checked there on-line system for a status and tracking # both were blank as from the night before. I let two more days go by and still no updated e-mail or call and the on-line status remained the same. This is when I became a bit worried if I had been taken. I began by sending polite e-mails to the company inquiring about my order no reply was ever received.
I now was very concerned. This is when I looked up complaints about this company and found what was happing to me had happened many times before. I decide that I would now increase my headache and attempt to call Botach and find out what had gone wrong. (Bad move). I called and was quickly transfer to music after about 2 to 3 minutes to my pleasant surprise a voice answered Botach Tactical The operator did say a name but I couldn't quite catch it. I stated Ah yes I would like to check on the status of my ord
Before I could complete the word order I heard a loud click and the line went dead. I tried again and was met with endless music or mysterious hang-ups.
After this ordeal I decided to try the e-mail route again. This time when I tried e-mailing them I received this message:
This is an automatically generated Delivery Status Notification.
Delivery to the following recipients failed.
'botac@botac.com'
Tried again and received the same response. I finally sent another one on 01/26/2006 attempting to cancel my order thus far there has not been any response it is 01/30/2006 now.
The worst part about this whole ordeal is I checked with my bank Visa and found that the money was on hold for the amount of the item but because Botach did not submit the paper receipt for the transaction it expired. I thought well then I am done with this company but no wait. The bank then told me that Botach can still attempt to submit the charge because it still has an authorization #. So now the only way to stop them is for me to submit a dispute with the bank and wait 30 days and then have my card deactivated and re-issued for security. No problem if I had all the time in the world but I travel for my job and I need my card.
I certainly have learned my lesson with this one. Please if you value your time and money dont order from this company. I read somewhere they were attempting to clean up their customer image. Yea right I think they just wait to see if someone will complain and then maybe act. If anyone at Botach ever reads this please cancel my order.
Just an update on my story. After writing this review and a couple of others on other sites I received an e-mail from Botach. It was received on 01/31/2006 the same day I wrote this review. The e-mail was the same automated one that I received in the beginning. It told me to check the on-line status. When I now checked their web site status the only difference I found was where the status of my order had changed to "Shipping in 4 to 7 days." This was unbelievable still no response to my many e-mails.
I immediately shot back an e-mail with all my other e-mails cut and pasted together and told them that they had ignored me for so long that it was unacceptable and I wanted my order cancelled.
After about an hour I received another automated e-mail telling me again to check their on-line system. I did and now it showed "Order Cancelled"
No explanation or apology just cancelled. Not sure if it was just coincidence, faith or what but right after this review the situation was resolved, even if I didn't get the item I still can now be done with this terrible company.
