A few months back built very nice computer for my parents (but I use most of the goodies..capture card, dvd burner, etc. when I vist them;) and the one thing I did not think to buy was speakers.Had and old set of creatives with no on/off button and the just plain sucked.
So off I went to surf around for a good deal and came across these set of speakers.Came across them at buy.com (http://www.buy.com/cat/speakers/442.html) and they figured out to be a good deal...free shipping to boot.
Hooking the up was painless, I am not up on connectors but the one speaker connect to another then that one to the sub via cable that end connector looks like a vga plug almost.ONe nice little bit they throw in the box is a miniplug (standard size jack for inputs/ouputs etc. with audio on computer) to red and white RCA audio cables. This means you could actually hooked them up to a TV directlt w/o need for a reciever very nice (I will tell you below)
The only thing I thought would have been nice are treble and bass controls..that would have just been the finishing touch for an excellent product.
Sound is great very clear,no need to crank the sub all the way up (I know some will disagree but TOO much bass is a bad thing). Not much more I can say about it they are just a set of very nice speakers that sound excellent at a low price..can't get better then that.
I like these speakers SO much that I plan on within the next week to order the 5.1 set for my television.THey are around 58 bucks (the 2 piece were 36) so not that bad and a lot cheaper then a home theater in a box and comes with the.Only thing need to check to see how long the cable is between the speakers...need to run them aroun the room.
Logitech I have come to see is just a great company that make awesome products.I have bought 2 wireless keyboards, 2 wireless game pads (PS2 and PC) and a set of speakers (soon another set) all from Logitec and they all fail to dissapoint. The only problem I have had is a little quirky PS2 wireless very now and then (might have been low batteries).
You just can't go wrong with their products (imagine the klipsch sound awesome but there will never come a day when I spend hundreds for a some PC speakers) Logitech is GOOD.
