Pros: I got it for free
Cons: Doesn't work
The Bottom Line: Perhaps it works for some people, but hard water seems to be the Scrubbing Bubbles Automatic Shower Cleaner's nemesis.

I received a Scrubbing Bubbles Automatic Shower Cleaner as a hand-me-down. My sister had a coupon and found it on sale so she figured for $10 how bad could it be. Apparently bad enough for her to pass it on to me.
The Basics
The Scrubbing Bubbles Automatic Shower Cleaner is designed to hang on you shower head. With a press of a button cleaner shoots out from the cleaning head, powered by four AA batteries, which are included. You must use the special cleaner and the start-up kit comes with two 34 oz bottles of cleaner, each bottle has enough for about 21 cleanings. This cleaner is indicated to clean mold, mildew and soap scum. The sprayer provides 360° coverage and shoots up to 8 feet away for about 12 seconds.
Experience #1
My 16 year old niece is responsible for cleaning the one bathroom at my sisters house. Ive been in their bathroom and I suppose I would have to say she puts about as much effort into cleaning the bathroom as any teenager would.
Scrubbing Bubbles Automatic Shower Cleaner supposedly works best on a clean shower but within 14-21 even a dirty shower should be clean. My sister hung it in their shower/tub combination stall and three weeks later passed the contraption on to me when the first bottle of cleaner was gone. Despite obviously using it every day neither her tile surround nor her fiberglass tub were any cleaner than they had been before. Unfortunately for my niece is was back to scrubbing.
Experience #2
I decided to try Scrubbing Bubbles Automatic Shower Cleaner in our shower. We have a 4 X 4 solid surface (similar to Corian) shower with a plain glass door and the floor is textured fiberglass. Other than the glass door the shower is extremely easy to clean because the walls are smooth so there is no place for mold or mildew to grow. A quick scrub with a brush and the dirt that gets trapped in the pebble-like textured floor can be rinsed away. I decided to clean the shower thoroughly first, hoping that if this worked it would be the last time I had to clean the shower!
The cleaner hung nicely on our shower head. After my shower I hit the blue button on the front of the cleaner, got out and shut the door. You get 15 seconds to evacuate the shower, which is plenty of time. I watched it while it spun and squirted. It smelled fine, not offensive and like a typical sweetish bathroom cleaner. The spray seemed to reach most of the shower, all the way down to the floor. And so I left.
From that day on it was my husbands responsibility most mornings to run the Scrubbing Bubbles Automatic Shower Cleaner. He takes the last shower in the morning, which is the recommended time to run the unit. Since it lasted almost 4 weeks Ill have to guess that he didnt run it a couple of mornings, but he probably remembered 5 days a week. When that container of cleaner was empty, I got out my cleaning supplies and cleaned my shower again.
My glass shower door, that had been crystal clear when I started with this cleaner was covered in soap scum and/or dried on cleaner. You couldnt see through the glass it was so dirty. I had to scrub the door to get it clean again. We had the typical pink hard water stains where the walls meet the floor so Scrubbing Bubbles Automatic Shower Cleaner failed there too. Our textured floor was dirty and I needed to use my scrub brush and a lot of elbow grease to get it clean since the dirt had been allowed to sit and dry on for a month.
Experience #3
Apparently not believing either of her daughters my mother wanted to give the Scrubbing Bubbles Automatic Shower Cleaner unit a try herself. She had a coupon for refill cleaner and was willing to give it a try. My mother scrubs her bathroom on a daily basis. There is no sign of mold or mildew in her bathroom - ever. She dries the tile surround in her tub each morning after she cleans it; her 40 year old porcelain tub has never seen a ring in its life. She lasted a week using the Scrubbing Bubbles Automatic Shower Cleaner before she found signs of mold and mildew growing on her tile grout.
Three Strikes and Youre Out
I would guess that after my mothers experience Scrubbing Bubbles Automatic Shower Cleaner is heading straight for the local landfill. Between the three of us we have tried it on just about very conceivable shower surface permitted by the manufacturer and it failed every time. Since we all live in the same town with the same hard water Id be willing to say that may have had something to do with the failure of our unit. But for all of use the Scrubbing Bubbles Automatic Shower Cleaner was a useless waste of time.
