I recently bought a Hidden Hitch trailer hitch from etrailer for my Toyota Sienna. The ordering was smooth and the shipment arrived in good time. Upon opening the box, I noticed that the hitch had a few scuff marks and the paint was chipped or missing in a few small spots - not the quality that I expected. Worse than that, when I tried to install it, I found that the mounting brackets were bent. The hitch could not be installed.
I wrote to etrailer and requested return authorization. The etrailer rep responded promptly, telling me (1) the bent brackets are an occasional problem that etrailer knows about (it occurs at Hidden Hitch), and (2) in so many words, that I would have to fix it myself. When I complained again that these are thick steel brackets that are bent and stated that I will do business with etrailer again only if they can show me where I agreed to buy damaged goods, the rep apologized and sent a certificate for $20 off my next order. I was never given the opportunity to return the bent hitch.
I dont plan to do business with etrailer again, and I wont buy any more Hidden Hitch products without seeing them first. (Ive since had a much better experience at my local bricks-and-mortar hitch store.)
