Don't get me wrong, I love this unit. It provides good sound, its rugged (I had it in a house with 3 other roomates messing, spilling on it etc for 2 years at college) and the highs simply scream. Its got great surround sound, and I simply can't stand to watch a movie without some sort of multispeaker sound system after watching the Matrix with it.
My only complaint is that it needs a little more bass. On the other hand, the system I got only comes with the subwoofers inside of the speaker towers, and they are really only 6 inch mids made to act like subs. On the other hand, I only paid 300 bucks for it (3 years ago or maybe 2) and I'm not sure how much I should exspect from it. No matter how much you spend, there isn't a mini system like this out there that will outperform my KLH sub on bass.
Before I moved into my apartment at college I bought a 300 dollar KLH audio 12 inch sub (I only paid 200, it was on sale) for it, turned the bass down on the systems speakers, and let the 12 do the work. Its a good thing to, cause one thing you need when your good friend is hosting a party with 60 people coming, and the sound system he had borrowed doesnt work (he had 2 15inch sub towers coming) he turns to you, and you cant say no to a huge party you know :)
That brings up something else. To everyone who has a multicomponet system out there, and hates these. Try spending only 500 bucks total on a system that has a 3 disc changer, a tape deck(2), and can shake an entire house full of drunks, and still have the ability to be picked up and taken whereever in about 5 minutes.
