I had used Expedia's hotel reservation service before, but this is the first time I ever used their Flight Reservations service. After getting fed up with British Airway's site recently, I decided to hop over here and see what I could find. For the most part, I came away pleased.
Expedia has a white background and is not all ruined with a gazillion fancy flash images. That is a plus in my book. It is very straight forward and easy to navigate. Simply click flights, then enter your info as to where you want to go and when. For some exasperating reason I don't care to go back into at the moment, I narrowed my search to only BA flights. Yeah, I'm an idiot.
At any rate, the results came up pretty fast. They did not offer the exact flight I was looking for to match the return ticket my husband already had from Melbourne, Australia to Copenhagen, but the price was considerably lower so we decided I was a big girl and could fly on a different plane. He would just have to return to CPH to pick me up 7 hours later. heh. Hey, we saved $200 over the other flight booking sites. That is nothing to sneeze at.
They immediately send a confirmation e-ticket to you via email. You can also change flights at their site and add other things onto your itinerary if you wish. One thing about the check-out process I liked a great deal was they did not automatically save the CC info. They gave us the option to save it or not. Lars is a little schitzy about that kind of thing, so it was nice to be able to say no to that part.
Be aware that, like most other travel booking site, Expedia does have a fee. I believe it was $25 for this ticket. If you decide to change your flight, do be ready for extra fees. If you change your flight online at Expedia though, you can save 30 bucks of that fee.
The problem I have with Expedia Flight reservations is that they are now sending me an email approximately every other day asking me if I'd like to add on tickets to area attractions in Melbourne, book a hotel, whatever. Even offers for cheap US flights to Las Vegas. Hello? I'm flying from Denmark to Australia. Why do they think I would want to throw in a Vegas jaunt? Ohj.
So. The thing is that Expedia in general is not always the lowest way to go on the Internet, but occasionally they have killer deals, like with this flight. I am going with only 3 stars because of the spam thing, but I do recommend highly that you at least make them one of your regular stops when price-shopping for a flight. Really, putting up with the spam is worth the 200 bucks we saved.
