You like me, don't you?

The Bottom Line A really old one, that is more prose perhaps then poetry, but isn't too bad. Thanks Epinions for adding these categories!
It was a
Question and Statement of fact that came out of nowhere
in that small room on that sunny day.
Books on the shelves surrounded me -
And I remember - the silence floating through my mind,
thoughts searching for words and only
discovering a smile tinted with a blush of innocence,
like a child caught in the act of doing something wrong.
It was a silence coupled with a brief and uncomfortable laugh
that arises with the draw of a breath,
as you stare into the eyes of the one before you,
whose tilted head lets the light softly
highlight her subtly charming features.
A gasp, a discovery.
And the only reply was a
silent voice that hid an
answer that was already known but never answered and
yet so seemingly ignored, and
so purposely forgotten.
And in the end it really was a
Question and Statement of fact that will forever
stand out in my mind.
It will never be forgotten, and yet, it will seldom be revisited.
Like eternity standing on end as you
search for the beginning of your dreams - seemlessly floating
toward the words that you just couldn't say.
But yet - maybe she did hear you answer that
question and statement of fact, for
in the silence I did so subtly reply, "I do" from the depths and recesses of
my heart, my soul and my mind.
