Lonely Night

The Bottom Line The pain of losing a loved one to a drunken driver

She gets into her car
and drives away
after the hard work
she's done today

she plans to spend
the night with friends
but before she gets there
she'll be dead

She's driving right
the way she was taught
when the truck approached
and didn't stop

he was drunk
when he took her life
driving down that road
in the lonely night

Her friends and family
are still in pain
even though it's been 10 years
since the drunk swerved into her lane

now he sits in jail
charged with murder
for taking the life
of their young daughter

Think about it
before you drink and drive
is it worth the chance
of taking someone's life?
